Alien draws weird thing

Some odds and ends of the Obsidian Witch who claims to be the Hope of legend. Someday I might actually make the graphic novel I've been thinking about since 2020, if I can get over myself long enough to do so :/

It's been about ten months (sorry) since I've made any art to post here, but I'm glad to finally have made art again. I have spent the intervening time mostly working on learning the GzDoom engine in the Hope I might one day indie dev a game, as is my dream... and hibernating 😅

From a while ago, back when my idea for a graphic novel was a little more anime-like. Was trying stuff with neon sharpies that are fluorescent under blacklight. These are not edited other than being cropped.

Deep within the oldest sectors of the Tower, the Engineer continues to tinker. He did not make the Tower directly, but he is the grandfather of the dreaded machines that did. His dark purpose now complete, he hides from his malevolent mechanical children in obsolescence, wishing to forget.

While her sensibilities are from an age long before their invention, Hope knows deep in her non-existent heart that the irony of turning these new so-called "necromechanical" weapons against their undead inventors would bring her satisfaction, were she still living.

A thing I made for a good friend of mine who goes by "JRoad" in his art. I wish he did more art. He used to draw on blank shipping labels and I would stick those on my sketchbooks. I like decorating the covers with other artists'work.

Today the device designated "RTX 2060" in the logic engine on my desk did too much math at once and burned itself out. Thankfully this will incur no impact to my renderings, as my process involves taking a photo with the broken camera on my glowing rectangle and deep-frying the image with filters.

When nobody is around, they descend to maintain the deeply-buried unknowable mechanisms of the planet. When somebody is around, they simply watch from unseen places, waiting for any intruders to expire... One way or another.

Bonus drawing, because I missed a day. I'm not sure if this is the same operative as the one with the giant suitcase from a couple posts ago. I'm still feeling out the narrative I've been pondering.

I have no idea what this is or does, but it was clearly not designed by the living. Probably some kind of necromechanical worker drone. Best keep away from it in any case. (Feeling lazy due to not feeling well, hence the lack of filters)

I don't often color my art, but with this one I'm not sure what version I like better. I am rather fond of the blue-green-yellow gradient on the robotic arm of the fish-piloted robotic construct. I often find coloring my art is a gamble as to whether or not it will be an improvement or a detriment.

In the deep future the undead have pioneered and perfected the art and science of necromechanization in order to more effectively combat the living, superseding more traditional necromantic methods of reanimation.

I found the very very first drawing that began to suggest my current style. Made in 2009 during the period between about 2005 and 2020 when I didn't really make art nor identified as an artist. I regret there having been such a huge gap in my creativity efforts.

I also present the Labyrinth Demon, an eldritch abomination consisting of 60 hand-drawn animation frames and about 150 lines of custom code. it has two new abilities that I won't spoil. I made these in response to the fact that normal DooM monsters' AI can't deal with non-euclidean level geometry.
