with the massive influx of people who don't care about anything pushing out LLM slop projects, i need to remind everyone who cares about the craft to not let any of it get to you these people will only ruin your hobbies if you let them

I hate it in here. This site sucks (the memes are buns and the gimmick accounts are mid) The only reason I stay is cause it's my only social media where I can meet people and post shit without fully sacrificing privacy 99% of the people here are less happy than the Grinch on Christmas all the time.

the GPL sucks and I hate how it forces so many restrictions and requirements upon downstream devs forking a GPL project. Genuinely makes me not even want to touch a program using GPL because I despise viral licenses. BSD/Apache V2 is infinitely better.

For my network, I plan on strategically doing a lot of DNS poisoning/spoofing to redirect dead stuff to revivals. Bonus note; anyone who makes a revival server for something gets the old domain for that service for free! This means if you revive AIM first, you get login.oscar[dot]aol[dot]com free!

The best thing with having a modded PS2 and VCR is that it makes transferring any video I like to VHS trivially easy. (Video pictured is the teaser to the SM64 Classified epilogue episode).

Decided to finally check in on the political news after my friend said a lot of shit happened since mid-late 2025 (when I stopped caring) and holy shit the president did WHAT I now have a few very specific people on my hate list

I feel like the best way to run YANET (old computer network) is to simply be more of a hands off admin and generally only intervene when someone breaks rules. I'm here to host a service, not argue about politics or my opinions. If people don't like that, then Feel free to fork the project under a

Building a physical wireguard layer 3 tunneling device with a pi pico 2 with 2 Ethernet ports tacked on. My current speed target is 6.312mbps. designed for usage with YANET or any other service using wireguard for tunneling. If anyone has any name suggestions, let me know.

and now, the rant; tldr #CGHMN sucks ass. It's run by someone who will banish you because you don't like their opinions (and he will never give you a real ban reason), it's setup program was more of a setup suggestion, they can't figure out how to evolve their network, etc etc. YANET is my solution.

Meet Potential Network! "Just wait till the next VCF presentation" "Just wait till we get a EU server" 0 valid bans 0 active users 7 people actually hosting anything Ban people according to the rules ❌ Ban people cause I said so ✔️ Give me liberty Give me fire Give me the AGPL Or I'll retire

Elaborating on my last post, my latest project is one involving creating a network for vintage computers from 2001-2005, letting them connect to each other via Layer 3 tunneling. I think YANET is a nice name for it as it stands for "Yet Another NETwork".

The primary catalysts for its creation were 2 things, firstly me wanting to evolve a prior network idea for homebrew computers, and me wanting to make a network similar to CGHMN/Compu Global Hyper Mega Net, but with things like better leadership. I'll talk more about how CGHMN is kinda ass later.

I hope when I die and see the pearly gates I'm greeted by Chris chan and all the other lolcows and behind him sits a sign saying "hot chick heaven" next to the entrance to heaven
