It’s pretty funny to be called “elite” for supporting trans people by a cigar-smoking, champagne-swilling, yacht-owning billionaire, but hey, why shouldn’t we all bow to the opinion of someone not trans, not queer, not a doctor, not a scientist, but who’s really really rich?

Walked down the street in the centre and got accosted by a guy from an energy company. Literally, from like 20 feet away, he said 'HELLO, ARE YOU FROM [LOCAL AREA]'. Had to awkwardly walk towards and past him. Do they train them to do that or what.

Finally caught up on this weeks #GBBO It's so funny to me that not a single person got the technical even remotely right. Like if Paul and Nigella are choosing which flatbread is the least raw, at that point, the issue isn't with the contestants, but the instructions?

Stephen's old tutor, Puddle, has spent the *entire* novel saying 'Look, you're different and that's fine.' Can only assume that when Stephen does come out to Puddle, she'll say, 'Finally, go date that hot French woman.' #Readingcommunity #WritingCommunity #Booksy

Currently reading The Well of Loneliness by Radclyffe Hall. Big fan of the scene where Martin confesses his love to Stephen, and she's so taken aback and horrified that she immediately runs off. As a demi-romantic, I relate to that on a deep level. #Readingcommunity

Stephen is in Paris, struggling to come up with writing inspiration, which keeps making me think 'damn I really need to write more.' In order to be inspired you need to Experience Things, but then to actually write, you need to hole away from the world. #Readingcommunity #Writingcommunity

When Grammy-winning musician Rhiannon Giddens begins playing “Old Corn Liquor,” a traditional Black American folk tune, acclaimed Chinese pipa virtuoso Wu Man recognizes similarities to Chinese pentatonic music and spontaneously joins in. The joy on their faces says it all.

Update on my book launch for THE LAMP IN THE WINDOW: it's now happening at Bearded Badger Books in Derby at 1pm on October 31st. Huge thanks to Paul for hosting, and every copy comes with a drink voucher for Replenish next door! Come along, buy a spooky book, and enjoy Lucy's award-winning coffee!

Currently reading The Post Office Scandal and Me by Jo Hamilton. I knew a but about the Horizon scandal going in, but it's truly so much worse than I imagined. Mass scale gaslighting, auditors going into people's houses and taking their possessions, selling their homes it's crazy. #bookcommunity

it’s the book birthday of I Shall Never Fall in Love tomorrow! I recently realised there's a big preview readable online that I never posted here 👀 I love when you can actually see GN interiors, & wanted to make the preview easy findable here without having to trawl through amazon #books #isnfil

Yesterday I finished reading The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I admire what Morrison set out to do. I also do love that it's barely 200 pages and she still fits like 5 character backstories in there #readingcommunity
