Happy Xoloitzcuintli Day! We just celebrated my old man’s 14th Gotcha Day and we are so grateful for him and his goofy brother. They are truly the best breed.

FYI, just because you’re on the left or you’re a democrat or whatever, doesn’t mean you’re immune to ideology. Ideology and militant thinking in any form aren’t good. You can be just as brainwashed as the MAGAs you claim to hate so much.

They never evacuated dependents in Bahrain.

I lived in Bahrain while my husband was stationed there. Our daughter was born there. Sad to see that dependents weren’t evacuated prior to this stupidity. Sad to see we targeted a girls’ school in Iran. Praying for the safety of everyone who doesn’t deserve this.

Was doing some research for a paper on the same bacteria that caused my mom’s abscess and death. The article stated there have been only 12 cases in the literature of abscess in adults caused by Citrobacter koseri. 12. Been sitting here trying to process that.

I love how nobody gave a shit about hockey until they laughed with Trump and suddenly they’re all fascists and misogynists. I laughed with a guy complaining about CA and gun control simply because I chose not to engage. Guess I’m MAGA now or something. The constant outrage is exhausting, eh?

I’m slightly annoyed that my quarterly alma mater magazine comes addressed as Mr. and Mrs. husband’s first and last name. Thankfully my degree has my first and last name and not my husband’s.

Bro, I’m so tired of this 😩 I’m not even 50 and I’ve seen my country majorly bomb and invade other countries at least three times with countless other actions that weren’t major news content. I just want high speed rail and beautiful parks.

My husband is a contractor. His company was supposed to get a six month extension on 1 Oct but the shutdown happened. So now that they’re open again, they have to wait for extension approval and have it amended to include the fact funding is only through 31 Jan.

They have two GS employees taking care of the backlog from a month and a half plus all the new work that’s coming in. I imagine other offices are dealing with similar. And it was all for nothing!

Very sad to be listening to Rosary Across America and hearing people who run the show say they listened to Charlie Kirk. I’m not surprised just continually disappointed in people who call themselves Christian supporting someone who believes in violence…and died by it.

We’ve been thinking about moving and this just adds to the reasons. I so feel for people who don’t have that option. Their children are being thrown to the wolves.

Breaking news: Florida will end vaccine requirements to attend school, making it the first state to do so. The state’s surgeon general said every vaccine mandate “drips with disdain and slavery.”

So, the NWS vacancy had no impact on the ability of local officials to coordinate with the NWS? That seems pretty contrary to the discourse on Bluesky…

"A review of... communications from a real-time messaging system operated by the NWS showed that no emergency manager from Kerr County was sending messages or interacting with NWS staff on the platform, even as emergency officials from other counties were doing so." www.cnn.com/2025/07/07/u...

1. Don’t ever blame people who lose their lives due to weather 2. Being a professional means knowing your audience and speaking to them. As a weather nerd, time and again it’s been discussed how poorly NOAA/NWS communicate their warnings and forecasts. 1/2

3. Why are people like Ryan Hall so popular? They don’t talk down to their audience and they use plain language. 4. People like AltNOAA love the feeling of superiority they get when other people don’t understand the same things they do. It’s their drug.

Irony is living in the Free State of Florida but having to go to Alabama to buy fireworks to celebrate said freedom. Spent so much we got $70 in free incendiary devices.

During my internship at the Charleston Museum, I handled slave tags during restoration. I can’t describe the impact it had knowing that I was handling something that a person wore to denote they were the property of another human. The weight of it both physically and symbolically. 1/2

Here I was, a privileged white person, going about the mundane task of cleaning and cataloging a piece of metal that was worn just like a dog wears a tag to tell someone where to return them if they “wander.” It’s very humbling.

I smell weed in the car rider line while dropping my kids off at their elementary school 😂

Growing up, my mom would play this home video of her and her friends from the 60s and it had this one song that I loved so much…I took some time today to go through the Dave Clark Five discography to find it and this is it!
