I wanna recommend this great video about modern criticisms of media, as I myself tend to get caught up with "interpreting" media vs. "seeing" media for what is on the surface youtu.be/J56XPMA6KHI?...

I just learned today that people think a horror movie is good if it's fun, has comedy in it, and the crowd in the theatre is "hot", I.e receptive to said comedy. meaning they will not enjoy the movie if the rest of the crowd isn't laughing at the jokes. Again this is for HORROR movies

Source: Woman Carry Man's review for Resident Evil (2026) and most of the comments for the video echoing the same thing. As well as some dude named Nocturnal and their insane review of Weapons, where it seems like people are learning what basic visual storytelling is

kazuki takahashi is finally getting his own artist exhibition (post-humously btw!!) and i think they're doing him kinda dirty with these concepts. yugioh is an international cultural phenomenon but the exhibit is so barebones wtf....

I really think the animation industry needs to move out of LA, and spread out to other states or something. keeping it isolated to one city just doesn't make sense anymore, especially with so many artists having to work remote anyway

been thinking about the Animation Guild and its current efforts: like, there's a union studio in texas and one in ny and yet all of TAG 839's events are in still in LA. not a very inclusive guild lol

So a particular movie got leaked recently & I've seen animators blaming piracy for undermining their hard work & potentially costing them future opportunities. As an artist in animation, I get the fear. But y'all are not gonna lose jobs over this. Direct your frustation to Paramount; they messed up!

In general, I think l'm good at character expressions and acting. In storyboarding, I'm pretty good at figuring out the tone and mood of a scene and its characters. Usually get close to zero notes/revisions from clients, so I like to call myself "No-Notes Ari" lol
