@johnmu.com after @rustybrick.com shared the new UGC Fresh Data Program from Google, I applied on behalf of SEOjobs. Since the job indexing api isn't an option, do I stand any chance of being accepted? Job listings are UGC, I just don't have it attributed to a single submission user...

If Job indexing API isn't an option (I get it, spammers) Should we be using XML sitemaps despite Google Docs clearly stating NOT to use XML? My jobs get indexed; a few get into job widgets, but the larger issue is that when they 404, they stick in the index. They get removed from my XML daily.

I’m very been a good boy, @johnmu.com, I haven’t manipulated the SERPS in some time now… Reward me with some feedback/tips on this APi? Lol 🤣🫣

Hey @johnmu.com I know the job indexing API isn’t a priority given spammers but with nobody getting new APIs approved, do you still recommend adding jobs in XML sitemaps? can’t help but think xml might be detrimental given the quick in/out function of listings Which is why the api exists. Right?

HAAAALP @johnmu.com I really appreciate your last update on my Q about job indexing API and completely get the spam affecting increase requests. (Several data points showing requests not approved for 12+months now)

BUT today I discovered both of my job boards aren’t even hitting the real crawl queue but test/sandbox. Meta data due to sandbox/test permissions display 404 showing it’s never hitting the real crawl queue. 😭😭😭

Anyway we can get approval on atleast the base 200 daily quota so google metadata gets recorded. Cloud shows 200 submission but it’s ONLY in its test/sandbox environment. Please. The competitive advantage for sites with legacy API approval is insane. 🥲🙃

@johnmu.com are there any known issues with web API indexing (job) quota request form? For years on various (job boards) I’ve never had an issue with increases Switched up account/api for SEOJobs and PPCjobs and can’t get out of the 200 max default. Been well over a month since latest request.

This is why we can’t measure “success” by standard attribution.

read @nickleroy.com ‘s latest email and couldn’t agree more! “Today’s long tail lives in social feeds. TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Stories drive discovery passively, one scroll at a time.” i always search on TT and go to Google last when i’m ready to find the address or make a purchase

Had a great chat with @suzzicks.bsky.social the other week about Google’s 4S framework and how it’s killing long-tail search…on Google. The long tail isn’t dead, it’s just moved to YouTube, TikTok & podcasts, etc. This is the topic of this week's #SEOForLunch 👇 www.seoforlunch.com/p/death-of-l...

With these new AI tools, crawling tools, and way too many Chrome browser tabs... I'm sick of maxing out my RAM on the regular. What laptop do you recommend? I'm a PC guy currently using XPS 15 7590 Running a SAMSUNG 49" Odyssey G9 monitor

I'm not going to lie. I had a ton of fun working this hero image over and over to get ChatGPT to create a Googlebot doing the griddy! I wrote a post that goes with it, but that's secondary.🤣 Check out today's #SEOForLunch 👉 www.seoforlunch.com/p/title-tag-...

So much for Google Discover being the one place that was safe from AI Overviews stealing traffic. It will be interesting to see how this impacts Discover traffic.. guessing we'll start to see the "great decoupling" there too, especially for news topics techcrunch.com/2025/07/15/g...

This is the way. Google, LLMs, social media, etc., nobody owes you a single visitor and the sooner people realize this and start focusing on eggs in more than one basket, they'll be better off.

Celebrated my birthday in Maui with my family. Also treated myself to a deep sea fishing adventure. … 323 pound blue marlin! A 3 hour fight with four of us rotating reeling this sucker in. Once in a lifetime trophy fish!
