Horror is famous for its jump scares, but what about the quieter, subtle moments that exist just for the viewers: a glimpse of a ghost just behind a protagonist, a demon that only we get to see? Let's talk about some terrifying moments of background horror in film and TV 🎈

It's spooky season and I've got 31 days of creepy adventures for you! For day twenty five I'm on Belle Isle, which is an island in the Detroit River in Michigan. This is the anchor from the Edmund Fitzgerald. The ship sunk in Lake Superior in 1975 and was memorialized by Gordon Lightfoot's song.

We can see the Cathcart~Neilston line just south of the junction, from our front room and there is a train standing at the lights, not moving. If they cannot get to Cathcart station due to something on the line, I wonder how long they will leave the poor passengers before having them jump out.

MOH now glued to the 'action' watching what is visible through driving rain, with his binoculars from our upstairs office room. Orange lights over the doors are on, which I had understood to mean the doors could be opened if needed. We have no TV so we have to get our entertainment where we can.....

For Glasgow readers only: No Buckfast was consumed in the activities portrayed (at least we hope not).
