Rural Resus tip no.6 from @emcrit.bsky.social at #SSEM25 - art line (under ultrasound guidance) is invaluable for arrests - you can use it for pulse checks, adjusted dose adrenaline, modification of mechanical CPR positioning… definitely far more reliable than pulse checks by hand #FOAMed #FOAMSky

Rural Resus tip no.2 from @emcrit.bsky.social at #SSEM25 - mechanical CPR is a game changer in human-resource-stretched environments Rural Resus tip no.3 - establish good ongoing ALS in the Resus bay before taking ambulance handover #FOAMed #FOAMSky

Learning from cases is what #Resuscitology is all about - participants give us their stories and we work through them together. There’s no better way to learn and heal.

This is breathtaking - a must-read. #FOAMed #FOAMsky #MedSky

A young intern faces lasting trauma after a routine epidural leads to cardiac arrest. Years later, now a specialist, he reflects on fear, silence, and how one moment reshaped his practice, teaching him that emotional resilience matters too. zurl.co/Of275

If you’ve never seen John Hinds hilariously and brilliantly dismantle the dogma around cricoid pressure, please watch this. Thanks for so much, John - your legacy lives on #ResuscitateWithHonourableIntentions #DeltaSeven

Not new, but this is brilliant take-down of cricoid pressure. #AnSky #MedSky

Pediatric front-of-neck-access is something we all dread to even think about. We might think we can retreat to the cognitive ease of needle based techniques, but they fail!! And if the kiddo is <8 y/o, cric won't work--you need to know how to perform a pediatric tracheotomy

This week I realised what this dream had been about - the chance to inspire the Emergency Physicians of Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH) at #DGINA2025. The thing is, when you sit down to try to inspire people about what you do - the vocation, not just the work - something incredible happens.

Just woke v suddenly from a dream: I was giving a presentation and - had a wardrobe fail - couldn’t find the right copy of my presentation so had to wing it through an overlong and clunky version - content wasn’t right for the audience AT ALL. Fair to call this a nightmare? @ffolliet.bsky.social

You find yourself digging down into the reasons you chose your path, the moments that have sustained you, the people who keep you going. When you set out to inspire others, sometimes you inadvertently inspire yourself.

Thank you, Köln & #DGINA2025! We’ve had a blast - the conference was just like Emergency Medicine itself; - friendly - funny - inspiring - exhilarating - and exhausting! We’ve loved being a part of the EM story (and family) in DACH ❤️
