A federal judge in Maryland issued a temporary restraining order on Monday, blocking members of Elon Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency team and anyone “working on the DOGE agenda at the Department of Education” from accessing sensitive data until March 10.

DOGE is inflating its savings claims. DOGE counts fully paid contracts as “savings.” Elon Musk’s U.S. DOGE Service says it has saved $55 billion by cutting jobs, canceling contracts, and renegotiating leases. But a closer look suggests that number is misleading.

DOGE lists 1,125 canceled contracts, claiming $7.2 billion in savings—but many were already completed, meaning no money was actually saved. In fact, 417 contracts saved $0, and another 51 added up to less than $1 million. Misinformation spreads fast—sharing to set the record straight.
