The Jazz Singer (1927) It is the first movie in the history of cinema to feature spoken dialogue in some scenes. It signaled the end of the silent film era and the coming of the sound film, which featured synchronized sound FX and spoken lines.

Very cool. I would get one, but I’m sure it’s more then a little out of my budget 🫤

In Mad Max 2 (1981), the object-repossession chase shifts its aim from mere pursuit to capturing a moving prize. Humungus’s raiders swarm the tanker not to destroy it, but to disable Max, board the rig, and seize control of the fuel haul.

Fun movie wrapped in a lesson we may need. So tell me who else is all out of bubble gum!

THEY LIVE (1988) Dir. John Carpenter. Still a classic any way you slice it, but viewed through today’s lens, this rallying cry against sleepwalking consumerism, wealthy elites, and self-imposed corporate subjugation feels more relevant than ever. PUT THE GLASSES ON already!!! #Theylive

Imagine being ROBERT SHAW who on the word “action” has to convince us (in close up) he’s on a boat with just 2 other people in the middle of the ocean chasing a shark. If you ever thought Acting easy this photo alone should disabuse you of that daft notion. JAWS (1975)

Did I mention I want this! 😮🙂

Yes he was an excellent actor. If you have not seen Dog Day Afternoon do yourself a favor and check it out. It’s quite a movie especially for the time. Great acting all around.

Every once in a while, I like to remind the world (and educate the young) that Boston-born actorJohn Cazale was in only five feature films before he passed away in 1978. All five of those films were nominated for Best Picture.

Can you imagine what it took to build that back then.

Swedish warship Vasa sank to the bottom of the Baltic Sea in 1628. In 1961 it was salvaged and the wood was still strong enough to be able to walk the decks. Today is the world's best-preserved XVII century ship. Original post

True. I see artists creating art and experiences for people for free all the time. I see animal rescuers rescuing animals even though they can barely feed themselves. I see helpers of all sorts, helping, creating, teaching... Hell, youtube is full of teachers who've never made a dime, including me.

Awesome work!!
