I think the game of figuring out what builds one's drops enable is an element of ARPG design that is often overlooked. PoE2 nails it. I was kinda floundering around on day 1 with witch, and was reading a lot online about how rough the class was. Eventually had a sorc wand drop which...

empower a subset of skills and synergized with a "charges" mini game it enabled. After a few tweaks to my passive tree, I was cooking. That process of discovery is rare and magical (last epoch has moments like this as well, and is also a joy to puzzle away at).

Some are complaining that Space Marine 2 is a bit short on content, but I feel like this is the amount of content we typically saw in "full price" games before the era of micro transactions (of which, sm2 has none)

Pics of the final version of my Diablo IV Lego MOC scene. Pretty happy with the way it came out, other than not having room for one of the wings in it's final location in my office. #lego #legomoc #diablo #diablo4 #diabloiv

Sounds like they are also adding a Scroll of Retempering in #diabloIV, which I'm not sure if I'm into. Bricking does feel bad, but I think its an interesting risk/reward system. I hope they are rare.

I've been playing off and on for a week, and Embark's "The Finals" is real good. Lots of subtle decisions in how spawn rates work, team composition, and map design paired with solid shooter gameplay... it just feels good to play. (I'm also always a sucker for longer ttk games)

Got some good d4 time in last night to take advantage of the bonus xp. Despite some weird progression decisions and rocky start, I'd forgotten how much I enjoy minute-to-minute gameplay of this game. Say what you will, the combat does feel viscerally good.

I'm really not feeling the vibe the starfield team has taken with it's marketing this far from a musical perspective. The "rocket man" cover and this Image Dragons tune have felt a bit stylistically off, and they both feel very... "on the nose"

*loads of exciting new releases being dropped (bg3, armored core, starfield (🤞))* My masochistic brain: "How about we get back into grindy cardgames and try hardcore wow?"

Anyone happen to wind up with an extra "skull & bones" beta key? I registered months ago, but it doesn't seem I was selected 🙍‍♂️

So, I was going to stay out of the LTT/LMG debacle. There was some disappointing stuff happening, but it all felt a bit over-inflated on both sides. Then this apology video dropped. What tone-deaf detritus.

I think the source of a lot of Bluesky conflict comes from the fact that some people are using it as Twitter and some people are using it as Discord

I've spent so much time in act 1 of baldur's gate... I'm running the merchants out of coin as I sell all the junk I'm picking up. Should I just power through the main story a bit?

baldur's gate PSA: If you ever have someone join a campaign with a custom character, that character can never be removed from the host's party. Just messed around with a friend for an hour and a half with a throw-away-ish character, assuming they'd be dismiss-able. They aren't. 😬

My bg3 QoL request (also looking for suggestions if I'm making something too complex). I'm not trying to come across as entitled; the game is really good. Just some quirks: 1. Let me right click items to move them to/from the barter window 1/?

6. Let me see my full character sheet from the level up menu so I don't have to cancel leveling to check stuff 7. Show me my character's reach somewhere 8. Warn me before I use a spell or attack on a party member (and let me disable this per ability) 9. Let me arrange the position of my party 3/?

2. Let me drag items to/from other characters within the barter window 3. Show me who still "wants to talk" at camp 4. Let space and mouse click progress dialogue 5. Make mouse click skip the die roll animation (it's only esc, afaik) 2/?

Once I hit level three in Baldur's Gate, I started to do ok. Before that I was struggling. Anyone else running into this, or just me for trying weird hexblade stuff?

Baldur's Gate Tip #1: save. often. This is like games of old. On my first party wipe, my most recent save was over an hour and a half prior🤦
