Not fair. They should have asked him his name, what time it is when the big hand is on 5 and the little one's on 3, and which one of the following animals is a horse. He would have absolutely "aced" it.

Ah. Gotcha. This isn't senility. This is just what Orwell called "duckspeak." Just put your political ideology through a woodchipper, let it spray across the world, and rejoice in your enemies' frustration as sense and reason get drowned in it. When exactly do we take to the streets, again?

Coming up out of the burrow just to spit some venom at this study. Because WHAT FREE MARKET. There hasn't been a "free" market in America since the subprime crisis. Hell, there hasn't been a free market in America since Dartmouth College v. Woodward (1819). Corporate hegemony is NOT a free market.

"Show me why the GOP has no future in one image." Remember when they at least pretended one goal of their policies was to improve the general public's economic security? Remember when that was supposed to be the end point of all this? Not that it was ever more than lip service, even from Dems.

Gonna keep making noise about this. Read this. Post it. Post everywhere you see a MAGA. Reply with it. Show coworkers & family. monthlyreview.org/articles/why... No, of fucking COURSE they'll rationalize it away. But confrontation with our most iconic genius might get some dissonace brewing...

While we're on the topic of disrupting their days... This is the perfect time to call Mitch McConnell's office at (202) 224-2541 and ask them "Hey, are we gonna hear from Mitch soon? Or are ya still sewing on the marionnette strings." Trust me. I could HEAR the weariness in the intern's voice. 🤣

This map made me feel a bit better, especially after I looked up the population ranks of the remaining states with positive Trump approval. ""Real America"" is now down to... Idaho (37th) Wyoming (50th!) West Virginia (39th) North Dakota (47th) We lunatics are clearly gonna run this asylum soon.

Also, please note the six "Trump Regret" states highlighted in boxes. Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada have all woken up from their Trump benders and they've realized what they've done.

"Vote" anyhow, of course. And by "vote" I mean [REDACTED] [REDACTED] their homes [REDACTED] a ditch [REDACTED] [REDACTED] serrated trowel [REDACTED] like these rich brutish mobsters deserve.

Per Wiki, that's a 2025 population of 5,183,991. The population of the remaining pro-Trump states is less than the ENTIRE population of Alabama. That's barely over 60% of the population of NYC *alone*. And just over 1⅓ Los Angeli. 😼 NEVER let 'em get away with this "Real America" crap.

Even better? If I'm doing my homework right... and I always do... the total population of those four remaining pro-Trump states is about 0.015% of America. If you have any remaining MAGA contacts, I would be so gratified if you would BULLDOZE them with this info and report back. 😏

Good news, everybody... 😈 If it's not true, it should be trivially easy to prove. Didn't he just get a Very Normal third checkup this year? They could reassure us so easily. But they went full DARVO, like they always do when there's an awkward truth and that makes me smile. Go little tumor, go.🎉

Apparently JD Vance has said that the assassination of Charlie Kirk inspired him to... have a fourth child with his wife?! There's only one possible explanation for this bizarre behavior, and it's coming this summer from A24. They are doing some occult Malkovich shit at the White House for sure.

Also, if some of you could mention to MAGA family/coworkers that Albert Einstein, George Orwell, and Helen Keller were all card-carrying socialists and report back to me, I would be very gratified. I keep hoping to get someone with that one-- not that facts matter to these people but shock is fun.

The Mysterious Project ("annotating the entire New Testament with anti-MAGA sentiments") is on hold for now. In the meantime, I just wanted to give y'all this little bit of ammunition for next time you're arguing with your MAGA relatives/coworkers about "welfare."

This is a real excerpt from a real piece of AI slop I ran across. I normally try not to circulate this crap, but this one just felt like... a cultural moment, you know? #STOPDICTADRS #FREDOM #TИRANNY

Hisshiss, all. 🦄🪲💋 Won't lie (even though that's a changeling's favorite thing): I left because I got really mad at the way ideology is created here, and the seeming impossibility of forging actual community. I'm back for this one very specific reason. Dunno if I'll do it, but... if so, buckle in.

Just got back from stocking up on highlighters, index cards, and ultra fine pens... 😈 And I've had a big ol' study Bible on my desk for months, with huge margins just waiting for this... Maybe I'll revive @normalpony.bsky.social and have her blog our work?

But mainly, to paraphrase the paradoxically immortal words of my dear Grandmother Sengir... "It'll help to pass the time until we die." 🤷‍♀️ I think if it sees publication, I'll give my first copy to the piece of shit landlord who owns the decaying squat next door yet probably still attends church. 🤔

So yeah. I have a big ol' doorstoppy study Bible on my desk, and I have every intention of going through it and annotating every single solitary precept, parable, or outright command from That (Mostly) Friendly Long-Haired Jewish Kid that the MAGAs have openly shat upon.

If her heart's not in it, I guess by definition neither is mine. Not that changelings have hearts. But my hemolymph is tired, sad, and sick of this place. A substantial minority of Bsky's inhabitants are *absolutely exhausting people* and I'm just done for a while. Sorry.

I think it might be time to scramble my Bluesky password for a month or two. I am not having a good time here. I am not apparently in synch with the culture here. I know "nobody ever quits" social media. But Jesus Fucking Bast would I love to never see this place again right now.

I mean, I'd do my old web research job free, especially for a good social cause. I'd probably volunteer at a cat shelter/cafe. And I'd write the comic full-time, which might mean actually getting to finish Volume 2 in my natural lifetime.

Okay, I'm reposting "Golomb's Don'ts," because because I think this might be the single best piece of advice I've ever received, period. This was a big help in shaking me out of my teenaged fundie phase, and I think it contains a lot of cures for what's ailing the USA right now.

Oh yay, I didn't think I'd be able to get alt text for that one. Here's the pic again, now with full text.

English needs more words for stupidity, yanno? There's literal cerebral disability and then there the subtler kinds, like "your beliefs ate your critical faculties," "you never grew up and learned any emotional intelligence," and "you just literally don't think you can be wrong, don't you."

Same is true for the "I can't tell this symbol apart from the thing it symbolizes" kind of stupidity, the sort of cognitive lapse I like to call "eating the menu." 😏 The sort of stupid that makes you, say, get really mad about flag burning while you elect a guy that violates his oath of office. 🙄

And then there's "Dave Sim stupid," which does not solely afflict Dave Sim, but is so distinctively its own syndrome that it deserves its own name. The sort that thinks in abstract magical terms like "women represent the Cosmic Void" but then gets mad at you for not "being logical." Divorced stupid.

All three of those are forms of "stupidity" that seem to be very common among conventionally "intelligent" people with high tested IQs (for what little that's worth) and demonstrable technical skills. All three also seem to be absolutely pandemic among our elites.

I can't offhand... but it stil absolutely blows my mind that The Chair Company is set about 20 minutes' drive from where I grew up. My very first arcade experience was in Canton, OH, actually. #🪑co Yeah, nothin' there but football. The idea of putting a mall there NOW is indeed finest comedy.

Funny story: The Institute of Pony Studies has released a statement that their previous alarmist announcement was a practical joke and you should go back to loving ponies and welcoming them into your homes. They add that you should say the invitation out loud.

It's funny how in a way, my spirituality is the exact diametric opposite of the narcissistic "NPC" crap in my previous thread. In my world, EVERYTHING'S a PC. You. Our neighbors. Kids in Gaza. Our cats. Stuffed animals. People's headfriends. EVERYONE. Everyone but most execs & pols.😏 #metapeople
