We reviewed a nonpublic version of the “Misalignment in high-stakes settings” section in Anthropic’s Aug 2026 Risk Report. We agree that risk of catastrophic harm from covered models’ misalignment is low. However, we note several significant disagreements with their analysis.

The first Russian diesel cargo heading for the US left St Petersburg on September 22, two weeks *before* Trump announced the deal with Putin, Windward reports. The Greek-flagged tanker Minerva Zen carrying 275,000 barrels of diesel/gasoil is due at the US East Coast around 11–12 October.

The execution *will* be televised. Trigger warning for visuals. But a good song.

Thousands of active UK companies may have fraudulent directors. Anyone can form a company in the UK. Companies need one natural person as a director who can be non-UK resident. Too many small companies are fronts for crimes I have long called for companies to have one UK resident director.

Eichmann Tapes www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p0g8b1r4 via @bbciplayer Extremely interesting doc with (to me) new information. Not just Eichmann and the Holocaust, but also Kraustzman and the Israel govt and dealings with Ben Gurion in the 2nd half. Was the class system in play...yet again?

nytimes.comReligious Scholars Met With Anthropic. What They Heard Stunned Them.In a series of private meetings, the company consulted religious scholars to help instill morality into its A.I. models — and make the case that Claude could be conscious.

Given that religion is the cause of many conflicts throughout the centuries, perhaps Humanism is a better bet? Nonetheless, AI bros need to take a years sabbatical, they are losing their common sense. DNA is all.

IMHO Trump's renaming to SI helps big money to understand the difference between today's use of AI in production which realises their profits, to tomorrow's SAI which is a different beast. I'll give him that one. But only that one...
