I saw yesterday that some right-wing outlets were running stories about me, which I’m used to. But this time I’m going to say something about it, because these were framed to imply that I was aligned with their own transphobia. ⬇️

I'm pretty sure I follow this site because it was included in a list of news sites that don't use AI. I realize this is an NPR article that Canada Health is promoting for some reason, but... I do not believe this headline was written by a real person, or reviewed by an editor.

what today has taught me is that for many men, a certain amount of abuse of women is always acceptable. sure, there's an amount that isn't, but that's up to them to decide, and if you try to question them, well you're just a crazy fucking bitch aren't you.

arguing over whether politicians are masculine enough is just another way of hating women EVEN WHEN THEY AREN'T THERE TO BE HATED and it makes me crazy

Adam means that she is the daughter of immigrants, but it is worth emphasizing that *every* U.S. citizen who has not been naturalized is a birthright citizen, either by the 14th Amendment or by statute.

Yikes, here's a HUGE story that it seems not enough folks are reporting on yet. Drone swarms of unknown origin this month apparently attacked an important Air Force base—"the first time a US airbase was temporarily put out of operation in wartime, something that never happened even in World War II."

Stunned to learn that I, and 97% of people I worked with for over a decade in health policy and legislation, were engaged in the unauthorized practice of law. Also, I am now a lawyer and you know what I DIDN'T learn to do in law school? Draft legislation.

Your weekly reminder Stephen Miller did not go to law school and seems at this moment to be engaged in the unauthorized practice of law.

Just found out we're almost certainly not going to get the third dog we've applied to rescue - fourth pet overall all as we applied for a cat too. Is there some trick to this? How does anyone ever actually adopt an animal from a rescue?

Seriously, how does anyone actually get a dog from a rescue? This is so fucking cruel. My proposed response - "Thank you for letting me know. I would appreciate if all of you would take your apologies and get fucked. Don't ever contact me again, for any reason"

Got an email from the shelter with the second dog we didn't get, saying the adopters had fallen through and asking if we were still interested. We got bad information from the foster the first time and someone else got their application in first, despite us doing what she told us.

Replying to @suboptimaldad.gobirds.online

Just imagine flying a "Don't Tread On Me" flag and posing as someone who hates government overreach-- and then masking up as an armed FEDERAL GOVERNMENT THUG to MURDER an innocent woman in broad daylight for no reason.

I really hate that I have to live with this fear when I hear a lot of sirens that there might have been a shooting at my son's school. Google maps says there's a car accident on the highway near my house. But all the sirens, man it just strikes fear in me every time. (1/4)

My sister was studying engineering at Virginia Tech. One of her professors was killed in the shooting years later. There is so much fucked up stuff going on in this country right now, but I feel like it all flows from the collective shrug Republicans gave to the repeated mass murder of children.

When I wrote about John Comaroff in SAPIENS "The Case Against Harvard," I made the same argument so many women are making now. Yes. We're mad that these abuses continue. But we're even madder that everyone has always known about it. You just look away. Every. Time. You just look away.

Give a man a fish and someone with a thousand fishes is going to bitch about people getting free handouts. Teach a man to fish? Yeah, that person with a thousand fishes is going to bitch about that too.
