Currently at my state capitol, and oh goodness gracious the things I’m overhearing. One of my house representatives used ChatGPT to write a synopsis of a bill *HE WROTE.*

I was in multiple rooms at GDC where management of games studios let their hair down and said "everyone's using it, gamers hate it so we just have to hide it now", but none were actually able to explain if and how AI were making games faster to develop or better at all

you always retweet my angry tweets saying mean things about some youtuber never when i make a funny noise with my computer and honestly i think you should all be ashamed of yourselves for that

Currently thinking about historical photos. Their medium itself literally colorizes them in a way that the human brain clocks, hard. I’m interested in colorizing/restoring some old photos to look like they were taken with modern cell phone cameras. Sounds like a fun (but long) project.

Should I get a Fanttik or a Dremel to post-process my #3Dprinting projects? I don’t know which tool I should select. I’m by no means a power user so the Fanttik’s style over substance isn’t exactly unacceptable… but a Dremel is a Dremel, you know? I don’t know what to choose.

Made a very barebones Suika Game clone for practice. Got most of the way finished, but hit a snag with my spawning code. Anyone know best practices for spawing scenes? #indiedev #gamedev #screenshotsaturday

I don’t know why it’s so hard to get people to understand this.

There are two ways to make a toy. You can study thousands of pages of behavioral development theory and engineer the perfect device according to the template, Or you can hang out with a kid for a few hours and see what's *fun* This is about game design.

The first book I finished on 2026 is Walter Murch’s SUDDENLY SOMETHING CLICKED: a whirlwind that takes you through a dazzling variety of memories, insights, and reflections on editing, sound design, and film art.

I love being a sound designer because I’ll just be off doing the most wild shit and when my girlfriend asks what I’m doing I can just say “recording samples”. One time I collected every eggshell I made over 3 months of cooking and ended up crushing them into a half cup of pure eggshell. It was peak.

Hey all! I'm urgently looking for an audio editing / sound design gig from now until end of January or ongoing if part-time. I'm very experienced in voice editing (incl dialogue in film) and I love doing sound design for audio drama. Here's my reel. Reaper + iZtpRX soundcloud.com/melissapons/...

Signal boosting this, this is a hella good tip.

Actually, speaking of #gamedev, here’s a #Godot tip: if you have something, say, a piece of ui, that needs to spawn at a specific x/y/x & y coordinate, it is much easier in the long run to add a Marker2D to your scene and then spawn it at *its* position, rather than hardcode it.

This is painfully relatable. I’m plagued by concepts like ancient Egypt was plagued by frogs.

in light of game industry discourse this week - I am still very much looking for my next concept art/2D artist job! studios, if you care about human-made art and the creativity that fuels the bespoke games you create, then you can find my work here: mattjohnsillustration.com

Finally conquered this bastard of a forensics flag from USITCC's #CTF last spring. I almost managed to grab all 4 forensics flags but this shithead gave me a false lead and I wasn't able to get it in time. Luckily my uni cloned their CTF set and I got to try again. It was flag{Kroenke} by the way.

Wasted my time thinking it was stenographic, but it was literally just. Chunk the EXIF location data into Google Maps, see that it was taken near Kroenke cat cafe. I was so mad when I overheard someone explain that in the lobby after the CTF ended...
