i've said it a few times already but i'll repeat. bluesky was never the place to migrate to from twitter. it had the same warning signs written all over it. it was just a matter of time. never trust a place that is fully free with zero monetization. because you become stats for the highest bidder.

Though I'm probably just yelling into the void here. I know that's on me, I never really did anything to grow my popularity or anything. But it does suck to have good insights into how things work but go largely unheard when shit hits the fan repeatedly. Ah well. I could use less distractions. ByeBS

tumblr did this same exact thing right before getting sold. they make it really good for us to build up a userbase. userbase is very shiny, investors and buyers like seeing a service with a big userbase. but oh no! theres scary stuff here "make scary stuff go away before we buy pls and thanks"

Had an interesting dream. Pretty terrifying and depressing while in it, but a neat and wild story to remember when awake. We were all stuck in a cycle. We would all die (not at the same time) then all wake back up at the beginning of the cycle. Same place, same time, and we kept our memories.

It gave me some "what if" thoughts though, that are pretty scary concepts. What if you were a doctor operating on a patient at the start of the cycles? Would you help them every single time? What if you were the patient, and you stopped waking up? Maybe the doctor gave up, do you give up?

The terrifying and depressing part is that when we died. Some entity would ask you if you want to give up. If you say no, you would wake up at the start of the next cycle. If you give up, you don't exist in the next cycle. I was trying my best to convince people to not give up, with mixed success.

It's always wild to me. Maybe I'm just way too observant and/or vigilant. But I'll see people be like, very anti-AI and such. But yet they're good friends with someone who's pro-AI, but the anti-AI person just... hasn't noticed it. They'll talk about anti-AI stuff right in front of the pro-AI too.

And there's more than one instance/friend group I've noticed this in too. Though one of them is more blatantly obvious than the other cause the guy literally has an AI profile pic. Part of me wants to bring it up when the anti-AI subject gets brought up because it's extremely silly.

If you buy a game, and then get upset that it isn't getting updates. If the updates were required for you to be happy with the game... Then, why did you buy the game in the state it's in? Not that? Then are you upset that it's not updating in general? Not everything has to be live-service. #gaming
