One of my favorite people, one of my best friends, and an amazing old broad who I am lucky enough to also have as my grandma, turned 96 today. She was surrounded by her kids, grandkids & great grandkids while she feasted on my spread of quesadillas, tacos and lots of cake. What a perfect night.🍸🍸

I just watched the speech in Gander from former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chrétien. Absolutely incredible. At 92, a bit wobbly and unsteady in appearance, but his words were honest, powerful and needed. I watched live on c-span, but well worth tracking down. Canada should be so proud.🍸🍸

I just broke up w/ my Persian restaurant, and I am more upset than any break-up I have had, lol. For over a decade, it‘s been my go-to to feed the fam, with drop-off for my grandma, but mainly for the only dish I can eat on a chemo night. Well, for “business reasons”, the dish is gone. At this point, I think people who think M4A is the only option for universal care might make my head explode. It is one method, and not one the majority of the successful universal care countries use. Without the bizarre purity focus on M4A, we could truly be so much closer to universal care.🍸

So much love & appreciation for Joe Biden. On a personal note, I held a hilariously petty grudge against him for calling me “little lady” when I first met him on a Senate elevator in the 80s. Now, there are few people I hold in higher esteem for service to their country & love for their families.🍸🍸

Out of my lane, but GOP electeds better start paying attention. Trump‘s endorsement doesn’t carry the same weight (see Ogles) and those on the way out, have rude awakenings coming. If looking for cushy jobs, note that some big Trump donors and corporations are starting to hedge their bets.🍸

Real question: Is it possible to post a thread about Trump & the GOP that does not turn into a Dem attack/whinefest thread? It is an insidious, knee-jerk reaction that should really be stopped, at least through midterms. We are not the press. We can say the GOP sucks with no equal time needed.🍸
