Be a friend we're all in this together! One way or another we will beat this, as long as we can stay respectful and united together. If we give in to the chaos of this circus, it will be extraordinarily hard to stop the change. Support each other and endure. #OttawaLRT #Ottawa

Record low, jeeeeeeesus. If that isn't a rebuke of our current people, I don't know what is. Unfortunately, when you don't vote, we almost always get more of the same—hot dog 💩 But I'm preaching to the choir here. You're all good people. It's those others 😂

You've heard of the Florida Tracksuit drink. I give you the Ottawa Tracksuit. #ottpoli

Chris 🇨🇦☘️@laxatldfwyow.bsky.social

He’s as empty a track suit as he appears. He desperately needs the local wealth to like him.

If Ottawa was a packed bus, this is how many people voted. Miss me with that "Transit was the number one issue". We're going to get what we deserve. Unfortunately.

AxeDame@axedame.bsky.social

You know, I find it hard to listen to people bitch about things in this city when I'm looking at voter turnout in various wards, and it's basically about 35-44%

Too close. Thankfully, Toronto didn't vote in the conservative plant character. I always enjoy when the good people win, you know there's tens of millions of dollars that were wasted on the opposition. That's the only thing that hurts them.

It’s over

Stay off the roads in Orleans 😜

Dave@allcaps.bsky.social

On the positive side: looks like Hubley has been bested by Erin Coffin. Chianello in Kitchissippi taking Jeff’s seat; Devine ahead in Knoxdale-Merivale despite an ugly race. Luloff hitting Wendy’s tonight!

God if I hear another of the old guard, 20 years ago politician former mayor, talk about how great Mark is. I'm going to barf. We don't need to hear any more power brokers talk about their favorite candidate, because they want to be invited to fancy dinners.

Jesus. Nothing we don't need to hear less of is old white people talking about old white people. Power brokers backing their favorite person. Because he's the one that does what they need to get done in the city. Which is to say, keep most of their money in their pocket.

Voting might be tedious, but you got till 8:00 p.m. Just get it done. Make the right choice. Free us from our fresh hell 😁

Reminder to all my Ottawa (and Ontario) people: get out there and vote! Polls are open until 8pm and voting is fast and simple - get all the details from Elections Ottawa: ottawa.ca/en/city-hall...

If you're in line waiting for the 95, stay in line! Political types talk a big game about transit, but the record speaks for itself. We have before us a chance to rebuke the status quo. Give your +1 to a city that doesn't hand all your tax dollars to developers. #Ottawa #OttCity

Done and dusted. Not splitting the vote. Not setting us back another 4 years. Exercising my right, that untold millions have fought and died, and are currently dying, to have the privilege to vote The selection might not be great, but they're going to have to pry my vote for my cold dead hands 😜

Ottawa, today we get to vote for Jeff Leiper. We pay a lot in city taxes. In exchange, we have a right to expect a city that works. Jeff has the experience and vision to fix Ottawa. Transit. Housing. Street safety. Ending corporate welfare to Porsche dealerships and OSEG. Join me to vote for Jeff!

Municipal Election Day. I hope we crack 30% participation so more than 15% of the population actually decides who runs this joint. Go Leiper!

New mayor bloggins slogan has just dropped. "Another mediocre vision from a mediocre man"

Toon Dreessen@toondreessen.bsky.social

The mediocre plan for a #BetterByWard was developed pre-pandemic; was approved in 2021 (b4 elected) and languished until an election year and is under-funded; a lack of vision + lack of funding ensures a mediocre result.

Every morning I cross a road where drivers run the red. So I wait until I’m sure cars are stopped before I cross. The pause prompts drivers - waiting to turn right - to honk at me. There’s no way for pedestrians to behave that will make car-brained Ottawa drivers happy. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

cbc.caWhy have so many people died this year on Ottawa's roads? | CBC NewsWith more than a month left in 2026, there have been 32 traffic-related fatalities in Ottawa this year — the highest figure in more than a decade. Police are partly pinning the blame on a rise in stun...

Lol. I wonder how long he tried to keep this ace in his sleeve. "Okay, just before the election, I'm going to rush around to a bunch of places. Lowertown is a shitshow from my underfunding but I'll just go visit Jean like a casual drop in, and knock on every door around him that's not gated"

As the #24in48 tour continues, Ginny and I have been knocking on doors in Rideau-Rockcliffe ward. It was great to visit with former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien. Thank you for all you've done for our country, and for your support in my re-election campaign!

It's all the same. There's nothing they can do except give platitudes. This is why I get after even the most progressive candidates. They're good people, but If you've resigned yourself to just throwing up your hands - it's my job to kick you in the pants until you realize there's another way.

Transit and not being killed by traffic are constant election issues, and every political type lies through their teeth that they are a big supporter of either. I'm getting healthier by the week, and I now have money, so I'm going to get back into the ground game over the next 4 years.

There's plenty of the city can do, we live in the most technologically advanced era. We can do so much, for so little, so quickly. But do we? Nope. Counselors sit on tens of thousands to millions of dollars of money. 111k salary. Nothing but time. But solutions? Can't find or afford them.

“Proven can deliver” money to private sports teams form public land; low taxes while our infra crumbles; new ways to (cut) bus service and make transit worse; promises to plant 1m trees (that didn’t happen) while destroying farmland, making storm impacts worse. We can’t afford 4 more years of Mark

mark-sutcliffe.bsky.social@mark-sutcliffe.bsky.social

I have a plan, I’ve proven I can deliver, and I’m ready to do it again. #24in48

#Ottawa make the right choice. We can't afford 4 more years of someone whose best skill is smiling in video blog posts. We have been stagnant for decades. Not that our choices are great here, but let's at least roll the dice on a city that grows.

Anticipatory obedience Historically, authoritarian systems do not seize total power instantly; instead, they rely on institutions and citizens to align themselves with the shifting political winds before forced compliance is even legally mandated

‘The Twilight Zone’ creator ROD SERLING was an early and outspoken critic of censorship. Here he is in 1959 talking powerfully about the insidious practice of “pre-censorship” and its ultimate cause.

Which is why dear friends. You must always resist and we must celebrate our differences. For resistance breeds revolution. And only dead fishes swim with the stream. Conformity, compliance, self-censorship, apathy leads ultimately to the surrender of the self, and the love of big brother 😁

Lol. So that car accident wasn't a car accident. It was a people accident. The police must be sweating right now. They're going to have to overreact and do something to show that they're worth their money, but they've already spent their money.

Excellent use of BSG. "What do you want to do now Capt" "Same thing we always do. Fight them until we can't" 😚👌

Robert Jago@rjjago.bsky.social

Tonight David Eby is going to resign, and then hand the province over to a group dedicated to screwing over First Nations. So seriously, f*ck him, his ego and greed for doing this, and wasting all our time for the next 4 years, fighting them.
