A.I. and corporate lingo are dragging language ynto drugged realmes of vague, airy, plastic nothingnesse: glitz and hyperbole wythout meaning. Language must have fur and clawes, make the floorboardes creake and leave wet dirtye footprintes. Wordes are rayne and fyre and stone. Wielde them. Save us.

We're at an impasse in English Department shirts at our high school for this year. I have been vetoed/overruled on my many, many good ideas, such as this one for Dungeon Crawler Carl...

That said, have official or otherwise licensed products been located with a more sanitized "Gosh darn it, Donut!" on this or any other level? (I know it's no fun, but I'm in Texas, and we've enough trouble with books & libraries as it is. Certainly not trying to piss on any walls here.)

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't nirvana, soundgarden, pearl jam, or alice in chains.

Fortunately, South Park prepared me for this very situation with this convenient note. bsky.app/profile/emil...

The CDC is reporting potentially ~7,000 cases of cyclosporiasis. One expert I spoke with said the true number of infections could be twice that. My story for @wired.com: www.wired.com/story/explos...

Bonnie Tyler & "Total Eclipse of the Heart" memory – at a record mime (lip-syncing) UIL competition in high school, an ensemble performed behind the solo syncer depicting loss involving love for drugs "eclipsing" love for a person. It was powerful & needless to say, won. #RIPBonnieTyler

Couldn't get on the trainer tonight until almost 8:30. By then, there was so little left in the tank, I was dead 2 minutes into the first interval.

So I quit it and will come up with a plan to refocus myself on (again) rebuilding myself as caretaker duties (again) intensify leaving me with (again) less time to take care of me.

Drive-in movie tonight with the kiddos. GOAT to be on the big screen in a bit. Setting up camp while they work out wiggles at the playground.

What did we do for Valentine's Day? Went to Ikea and watched sands through the hourglass. (Which turned out to be only 8 minutes & fifteen seconds. 🤷)

Pizza night a(nother) huge success with everyone getting what they want and me actually having leftovers for later this weekend.

A reminder that you are free to look at a video online, decide what it means, and proclaim that to anyone who'll listen. The NYT, NPR, CNN and all other journalists can't do that, out of professional responsibility and their own vulnerability at this moment. Give the journalists time to work.

Ugh. That was ugly. But the plan called for it, so—in cycling, just to be clear—we roll with the plan, trusting the process.

Enjoyed @burgermike.bsky.social's writeup on Tron: Ares & hope you will, too. My wife & I will see it tomorrow (Thurs) night; my son & I, Friday matinee. I'm apprehensive (plot sounds reminiscent of Force Awakens) but hopeful. Regardless, it's good to know that, still, in 2025, #FlynnLives

Review: With an amazing soundtrack, fantastic action sequences and visual effects, and a cast that elevates the script, Tron fans will be happy to have the franchise power back up.
