Honestly, the only thing more stressful than being held hostage is being held hostage and knowing that River Cartwright is going to try to rescue you. #SlowHorses

So much to say about Brazil, not least of which is the role that Erika Hilton, a Black trans leader and most voted woman politician in Brazil, played in mobilizing folks for Lula. She was behind the critical, concrete, economic promise of shorter work-week. theprint.in/feature/erik...

Vivek Ramaswamy's wife: Apparently, Vivek does not support women. Apparently, he is pro-child abuse. Apparently, he doesn't respect doctors.

Over 2,000 alumni from Vivek’s all-boys catholic high school in Cincinnati have signed and circulated a petition demanding that he pull the ad and issue a public apology for “ignoring the moral responsibilities” of his Jesuit education. I think he’s pretty cooked.

chat I don’t think doubling down on this ad is working out real well for vivek

The Ramaswamy ad has pushed the largest newspaper in Ohio, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, to reverse its position on endorsements. "A candidate who uses childhood sexual abuse as a weapon against the person who endured it has crossed a line that Ohioans should defend, whatever their party."

BREAKING: Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva won an unprecedented fourth term, the country’s electoral court said, defeating challenger Flávio Bolsonaro, who sought to revive his father’s far-right movement.

Wow, I didn’t realize this show was so popular.

I’m starting season two of #SlowHorses. Everyone on this show is as cranky as I thought everyone in London would be in real life.

It’s VERY unsettling.

It’s so weird to me to hear other women say “females” when talking about women I remember one woman said to me “Men and females” and I scrunched up my face so hard not even Botox could have fixed it

Oh, it’s THEE litmus test for misogynoir and it works across genders. Another trusty test: people who say “females.”

OKSOTHICK.@sayitaintsoph.bsky.social

Megan thee stallion is my litmus test for how men feel about sexually liberated black women and tbh that’s a hill I WILL die on.

I’ve started watching the television program #SlowHorses and I’m into it so far. It is a spy show. Should’ve given it a better name. I thought it was a western about old men. But anyway, how are there already six seasons??? Apple refuses to advertise their shows.

“This, like so many laments about what things cost in America, is a housing story. Public schools that provide a residential undergraduate education are also selling undergraduates an education in what it means to afford a residence.”

In 2005, Time Magazine did a cover story on “The Battle Over Gay Teens.” It’s the same handwringing we see now from “concerned” adults on behalf of young people. “Kids are disclosing their homosexuality with unprecedented regularity–and they are doing so much younger.” time.com/archive/6596...

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

Notably, in 2005, sex-same intercourse had only been legal in TX for two years! I was a junior in high school in TX when SCOTUS decided on Lawrence v. Texas. But most importantly: the dial moves! They’re going after trans kids just like they once went after gay kids. And trans adults.

“Just the tip… oh, shit. Okay, okay. Just the shaft. Oh!!! Okay, okay, just three strokes. OH!!!!! THREE MORE!!!!” Funniest sex scene I’ve seen in a while! #DiarraFromDetroit

I’m six episodes into #DiarraFromDetroit and I’m calling it. This show is definitely worth watching! Diarra is a schoolteacher going through a messy divorce who ends up trying to solve a murder-mystery after a one night stand. The show is a love letter to black women and Detroit.

She goes on a true crime odyssey!

Kai Kronfield@kaikronfield.bsky.social

From IMDB: “Diarra Brickland, a schoolteacher going through a divorce, refuses to believe that she's been rejected by her Tinder date.” They made a whole ass show about that?!

OMG, Phylicia Rashad!

After I finished the wonderful reboot of “A Different World” some folks recommended I watch “Diarra from Detroit” and I’d just like to say THANK YOU. This show is black funny weird smart sexy and cool.
