Trump Corruption continues, always something nefarious to line his pockets and those of his family and friends...including Russia. This time it's all about oil drilling in Alaska, a subject even discussed with Putin during the so-called Ukraine negotiations. 😒

A wild story: the CEO of a US energy company whose plans were discussed during the Witkoff-Kushner-Putin negotiations resigns. Why? He learned that his company's main investor is a sanctioned Russian company, not the UAE www.nytimes.com/2026/10/23/u...

Finally! Senators from both parties have warned the White House they will withhold confirmation voting on all Trump nominees until his administration restores full communications used by Ukraine’s military. The disruptions have equally endangered American personnel in Ukraine.

This has been one of the strangest weeks yet for Trump's health. At rally after rally, he blurted out random noises and seemed visibly confused. Now, he just posted this cryptic message:

My husband and I voted early today in Orlando — BLUE all the way! 🗳️💙 It feels great to have our votes cast and our voices heard. If early voting is available where you live, take advantage of it if you can — avoid the Election Day lines and get it done! 🇺🇸 #VoteEarly #Vote

Ugh ...😥 We've just got to see defensive interceptors provided to Ukraine somehow someway.

Ukrainian journalist Illia Ponomarenko recalls witnessing the aftermath of Russian attacks on civilians trying to flee. “Half-burnt bodies lying on the asphalt” beside the wreckage of their cars. “Something that you would expect to see in horror movies, but it's absolutely reality.”

Do not wait to vote till November 3rd. Lines will be extremely long. This is the 2nd day of early voting in Texas, and they are lined up already before the polls even open. Get out there and cast your ballot. They wouldn't be trying to stop you if it wasn't so important.

Glad to see CNN reporting on this. @jimacosta.bsky.social and I raised concerns about DHS potentially using a military-grade “heat ray.” After 20+ years in national security, I find this deeply troubling. A weapon designed to inflict intense pain. Against civilians? Why does DHS need this?

JD Vance has no shame, we know that, but he stooped to a new low when he claimed he's not seen any corruption out of this White House. In doing so, he's gaslighting Americans into thinking they're not seeing it either. Trust your eyes, the corruption is as clear as day. (link in comments)

On Sunday, the violence and protests in France had largely subsided, apart from sporadic skirmishes and looting involving small numbers of rioters in Paris. Most of the streets were peaceful. That said, Macron would do well to help students to address the situations they first protested about.

nytimes.comFrance in Shock After Protests Turn Into Riots, Damaging Buildings and ShopsAfter anti-government protests devolved into chaos, leaders from across the political spectrum blamed one another for the unrest, even as it largely subsided on Sunday.

Now Trump's hot and heavy into developing a "championship golf course" using public lands and, no doubt, taxpayer dollars WHILE consumer gas, food, utility and housing costs are skyrocketing. He clearly cares nothing for Americans, but makes no secret of his embrace of Putin and Netanyahu. 😒

MeidasTouch@meidastouch.com

As inflation hits a 4-month high and the Iran war keeps driving up gas prices, Trump unveils his big plan with the midterms two weeks away: a "World Class Championship Golf Course" in D.C. Work starts Nov. 15, closing a public course for about 15 months, he says.

Ukraine struck a long-range radar used by Russia to detect and track aerial targets, including aircraft and cruise and ballistic missiles. Ukraine’s General Staff estimates the system’s value at around $100 million.

Ugh... So the Starlink speed in Ukraine is STILL at a restricted level and that's all on Elon Musk. This is disgraceful and dreadful and Musk is downright evil.

MeidasTouch@meidastouch.com

Zelenskyy says Starlink restrictions REMAIN in Ukraine, crippling interceptor drones and military operations. He says Ukraine has evidence the restrictions are DELIBERATE after testing Starlink systems in the EU, where they worked perfectly at speeds that cause connections to fail inside Ukraine.

Interesting... #EpsteinFiles

Apparently Starshield access was fully restored as of Oct 15 for Ukraine's use. But knowing now that the White House can decide at any time to re-restrict access, we can only hope this latest restoration of service will last. 😒

This is the part that is so terrible... A company with the profits of Amazon not paying workers enough so that they actually have to end up applying for and receiving government assistance for food and health insurance. Yet the GOP would blame those on assistance for their predicament.

The amount of Amazon workers relying on SNAP and Medicaid has nearly tripled since 2020 — while Amazon’s annual profits soared by over 550%. It’s the same story everywhere: corporate profits are at record highs, while workers’ share of the economy is at a record low. We must unrig the system.
