big bang theory sucks but one thing i do appreciate about it is that it had four different nerd characters with different personalities. whereas in other sitcoms there is usually only one nerd character with the same stock nerd personality.

so much of transphobia & terf ideology is just “i personally find these people to be gross & ugly, therefore i should never have to interact with them or encounter them in public” which is obviously an unreasonable expectation to have, yet we are still expected to take them seriously

i listened to “you won’t get what you want” by daughters because people were saying “it’s a shame the main guy beat his girlfriend because the music is so good, like really really good” and to be honest i was pretty disappointed. maybe he would have been a better musician if he beat his meat instead

there were like one or two songs on that album that i did like, but i feel like they were only my favorites because the other songs weren’t enjoyable at all. maybe it’s supposed to be an acquired taste and if i listened to it a second time i would have different feelings about it. but idk.

one time i was a kid i read a book that had a transfem character. i didn’t know what being trans was and the book didn’t bother to explain it very well. so i just assumed that this character was born female but somehow didn’t know. not even intersex or anything she just never bothered to check

the character was Camba aka “Master Smasher”, from Rachel Hartman’s Seraphina series. pre-transition, she was described as this incredibly huge and muscular guy who keeps making sculptures and then breaking them. which im just now realizing is a very on-the-nose symbol for hating your own appearance

i'm trying to research candidates for the local elections, and a lot of the republican candidates are saying things like "i wanna make housing more affordable" "i wanna help working-class families" etc. which confuses me cause if that's what you want why would you wanna be a republican???

my guess is that they're trying to distance themselves from trump as much as possible. i watched a debate between two local candidates and both of them seemed to not want to discuss anything culture war related or involving the president. the republican one said he was mainly focused on local issues

hopefully this is a good sign that the republican party's far-right extremism can't sustain itself for much longer, and that we're gonna see more moderate republican politicians who are obsessed with compromise in the way that democrat politicians are now. but that feels way too good to be true.

even more infuriating is when you look for a midi file of a pop song that has a rap section, and the midi file just skips the entire rap section. put it back. christina aguilera’s dirrty is not complete without redman keeping his car looking like a crash dummy drove

midi files for rap songs never have the vocals. just the background music. i don’t want to play karaoke you dense fuck i want to make vocaloid covers

trying to watch more britcoms. watched the first episode of peep show yesterday, and this is probably gonna sound like a “guy who only ever watched boss baby” take. but i feel like mark has gareth’s sensibilites and tim’s energy level. whereas jez has tim’s sensibilities and gareth’s energy level.

if you put all four of them in a room together, they would probably hate each other. but i think mark and gareth could get along because they both have an autistic special interest with the military.

i hate wool because it’s too scratchy. but sheep need to be be sheared constantly or else they overheat. if i was a sheep i think i’d feel awful for generating a piece of shit resource that nobody likes.

In space, no one knows how to build a computer but they do know that it has the power to make a person cum. and if they dont use it it theyll never have a wife again. they wont even be able to afford a house

been seeing a lot of stuff related to the Control (video game) fandom, and it’s giving me the same slightly-unsettling-but-won’t-leave-my-brain feeling that House of Leaves did when I was reading it. Maybe I should play the games?

future generations of teachers will probably use chris chan as an example to teach young children why it’s dangerous to share too much personal information on the internet

although now that i think about it, chris chan might be too complex and morally fraught a character to explain to young children. i wonder what internet lolcows would be easiest for kids to relate to. someone whose situation they could easily imagine themselves in.

maybe justinrpg? lots of kids have crushes on cartoon characters, and like to make bad songs about random shit. but being a lolcow didn’t really ruin justinrpg’s life in the same way that it ruined chris chan’s life so the message probably wouldn’t hit as hard

> “i wish i had enough attention span for books” > starts playing a video game > realizes i’m not good at it or having fun > gives up and reads a book instead

sometimes i wonder what would have happened if america never did manifest destiny and just stayed the 13 colonies. do you think the louisiana purchase would become its own country. and all the land in the west would be separate countries run by the native americans. and texas would be part of mexico
