Watching my daughter absolutely bloom as a mother because she has the support she needs, makes me outrageously angry that modern society has created a trap for women, who are forced to believe they're supposed to be able to be a mother, wife, housekeeper, secretary, taxi driver, therapist, nurse,

bed partner, etc, with NO SUPPORT OF THEIR OWN. I used to think I was an alright feminist, but becoming a grandmother while knowing that I shouldn't have had to struggle, and my daughter won't because I'm making sure of it? I'm practically rabid now. Fuck. The. Patriarchy.

A whirlwind week that started Sunday with my daughter getting induced, a 20 hour labor + 4 hours pushing, me having to advocate before it ended up going real bad, and a vacuum assist, and suddenly I'm a grandma!

My brain still thinks I'm 20 so I'm still tripping over the idea 😂 But my beautiful daughter has a beautiful daughter and they're both healthy ♥️ No photos, I don't post photos of minors.

There's few downsides to living rural, but finding same day help when you discover a truely enormous section of rot in a flat roof that your "giving birth in 2 days" daughter needs to move into...is a struggle.

There's a freaking tornado on the highway cam in Rocky Mountain House, AB right now! #abstorm #abwx #tornado

#abstorm #abwx #lightning #thunderstorm I've never seen lighting this continuous for this long. Near Little Smoky, AB looking directly west, storm moving north. 2nd post below: left screenshot was 9:42pm and it'd been going on for a couple hours, right was 10:42pm to show how slowly it's moving.

I think the @weathernetwork.bsky.social has been drinking. We regularly get temp drops more than this, like almost daily all summer long. Earlier this week, we had a 28c high and woke up the next morning to 3c, followed by 26c that day etc. Little Smoky, AB.

So there's all this outrage about Carney giving the green light to the pipeline through BC. That's all he did, was give AB what AB wanted. Now AB has to make it happen. Will any producers want to commit that much to a project when the next gov could shut it down? Carney knows what he's doing 😂

I have many words for the UCP regarding this "energy rebate," so I had to do a screenshot for Bluesky. This clumsy data grab, citizenship status on DL, pushing disabled people who can't work into a program that forces them to work.... I'm tired, boss.

Hey, more rain. I just keep telling myself the fire risk is almost non existent (Little Smoky, AB area). But seriously, Fox Creek keeps flooding, so maybe we could get a *little* less?

Holy crap what a rollercoaster. I sent them an email asking for clarification. They just called and have reopened up my file and put me back on the wait lists. Unfortunately the wait lists are really long now, but at least I'm back on it. So glad I advocated for myself instead of just giving up.

I learned this morning, that after waiting a year for my turn at the bladder clinic in Edmonton, that my file was closed. They said I didn't tell them which treatment path I wanted (I most definitely did) and that I didn't call them during the year wait. That requirement doesn't exist, I checked.

I looked through all the files and emails they sent. I followed all the steps, but my file was closed. So now I have to get another referral, wait another year to get into the program, and wait another 6-18 months just to just seen, and hope they don't drop me again.

I'm not a crier. I've only cried a handful of times in the last 20 years, almost always because a pet passed away. I cried this morning. I was so looking forward to fixing my stupid bladder. With the tears out of my system, now I'm just angry, with no way to resolve it. Sucks.

This is horrific. If my 2 adult kids on AISH didn't have me as an advocate, I don't know what they would do. They can't work and it terrifies me to think that if something happened to me, this might end up being their fate, all because the AB UCP are ignorant, evil bastards.

Every Albertan deserves a life of dignity. Forcing people from AISH to ADAP should never have happened. No one should be put in that position. My heart breaks for Bruce and his loved ones as they endure this painful time. We can and must do better.

2 years ago we had a plant killing freeze on June 19. Here's this morning 🤦‍♀️ our last freeze date is supposed to be June 1! The +1 is inside a shed. Near Little Smoky, AB. #abweather #climatechange #alberta

FB, FB messenger, and others are having issues at the moment. Downdetector must be getting slammed because I can't load any of the pages to make my own report 😂 Please just let FB die. #facebookdown

2 of my adult kids are on AISH, b/c their drs and therapists say they can't work. But politicians apparently know better & switched them to ADAP, like the stress of having to reapply for a program they already qualified for is going to fix them, make them able to work? Fuck. Them. All. To. Hell.

Took 30 week pregnant daughter in for an NST last night, baby had a day of being too quiet so we had to get her checked. Baby fine. But got home 1am and took my PM pills, went to bed. Shot up 15 minutes later when I realized I took my AM pills, including ADHD meds. I sort of slept for 2-3 hours?

Have an appointment in the city (90 min away) with the husband this morning. He's T1 diabetes and might finally be going to try out an insulin pump! Normally I drive 🥱 I am not driving. ADHD is so dumb. My brain was happy to sleep with stimulants working, but my body says let's gooooo 😂

Random complaint/question: Why do most frozen berry mixes have strawberries? Costco (Grande Prairie, AB) has been out of their triple berry blend for a couple weeks now. I had to buy separate blue/raspberries but can't find blackberries anywhere. Strawberries are a major migraine trigger. *sigh*

I want to know who dumps oil shares from now until 8pm ET, because it's a safe bet that the 🍊💩 is going to back off his "annihilate a civilization" bullshit at or just before 8 and oil shares will plummet.

All the individuals responsible for @worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com Midnight, and Housing, should get a hefty bonus. I haven't enjoyed playing this game, this much, since I started in the original open beta in 2004. I wish wasn't playing on a potato and could enjoy the distance scenery more! #wow

We live in a weird bubble that radar can literally never see. We got at least 8" of fresh snow, most of it last night, and the app just kept saying "snow expected," with the radar showing nothing coming down, though it was SW/NE of us. Happens every snowstorm. #abstorm @weathernetwork.bsky.social

It's interesting that the same people who scream about their 2nd amendment rights - the right to bear arms (with the idea to protect against tyranny) are the same people who are just fine with watching tyranny happen.

As an American living in Canada, who hasn't been back to the US in 14 years and would not cross that border for any reason, this still hurts. NCLB was the start of the downfall, so I really only had my childhood to know a promising America, but it hurts. The lost potential of an entire nation...

Alberta separatists are the single stupidest people in Canada. The UCP has done nothing good and lasting for education, employment, or healthcare, and these absolute imbeciles think the same people can run Alberta as a country. They're letting foreign actors brainwash them. Morons.

Well. An improperly latched gate + crazy wind + a husky with adhd style hyperfocus and an insane prey drive = our last 4 chickens dead. She left them lined up in a row, heads all bent the same direction. 1 has a puncture mark, otherwise, no mess. She's a freaking serial killer! 🤪

No, sis, I won't be visiting the US. It turns out white people aren't safe from ICE, either. The cognitive disconnect of people who see that video and think she was doing anything but trying to get away, is terrifying.

So all the drama surrounding "the files" and I'm still wondering why a hacker group hasn't gone in and just taken/released them. Are all the hackers capable of taking on that level of security already on the payroll (or been bought off)? What a time to be a alive when you want the pirates to win.

Citizenship markers on licenses? I can't wait to get my citizenship to vote again these assholes. What the hell.

I had an ulnar nerve transposition surgery yesterday on my right elbow. I'm right dominant, in a hard cast for 2 weeks. Trying to do anything 1 handed with my left hand is proving difficult 😂 Thankfully my husband took this next week off work! I'll eventually need my left done as well. Aging sucks!

Someone want to tell him that's not how to lead in a free democracy? Oh wait, he's turning the US into a fascist dictatorship. My bad. It's devastating to watch this happen in real time. Where's the files?

This was a sad realization. One of the main resources I use to research medical things is the NIH (US) medical studies. It's not as good as having access to what a doctor would, but it's better than trusting AI and FB. Thanks to RFK Jr, I'm finding myself less trusting; what if it's been altered?

1/ I made the mistake of going down a rabbit hole. It's started on Reddit with a post about @wyden.senate.gov calling out the Epstein money trail. Which somehow led to Facebook. Which led to the comment in this image.

2/ Which led to me googling. Which led to this news article. Which led to me, once again, trying to understand wtf is wrong with half the human population. It's fine when Trump uses his influence to "help" rich people get richer, or criminals go free, but this is too much. Fuck them all.
