The "happy with any of these choices" line is tongue-in-cheek. But the point is that I constantly see people thinking that when both candidates are problematic, they can exempt themselves from any moral responsibility by abstaining from voting. And that is, in a word, cope.

I might be receptive to an argument that a coordinated protest vote (or non-vote) movement has power because it can move the needle in future cycles, although I don't think that applies right now. But I am not receptive any argument about "complicity." Not voting is complicitity in ALL outcomes.

As the US and Israeli elections approach, I just want to remind everyone again that a vote for no party is, effectively and morally, a vote for every party. The message it sends is the exact opposite of protest. It says, "I would be happy with any of these choices!"
