Ironically, I posted this over the weekend. bsky.app/profile/stlk...

I watched a video essay discussing It's a Wonderful Life and I noticed Mr. Potter's carriage had an ornate HP on the door. I wondered--is he Harry Potter? He's only credited as Mr. Potter. BUT a shot of his office door read Henry J. Potter. Harry is a diminutive of Henry.

Droz from PCU Dean Gordon "Cheese" Pritchard from Old School It makes both movies funnier. *Jeremy Piven liked this when I Tweeted it years ago

I don't normally but I definitely had to take off my glasses and hold the phone up to my face to tell who was in this frame.

Yeah a popular analysis is that Wayne is a fascist who beats up poor people rather than solving inequality. I don't agree but he does have some Bateman like qualities particularly the workouts and the violent fantasies.

& this, is where the revived Knight Rider series should start. A new pilot of a rebuilt KITT, he travels around like the original series with a Devon & Bonnie behind him, working for FLAG, And his main enemy is the son of Michael knight from the 2008 series in a re-imagined Goliath.

Jack Carter (played by Michael Caine in “Get Carter,” 1971) and Alfred Pennyworth in the Christopher Nolan Batman films. Living in the USA under an assumed identity, Jack nurtures the gift for violence and the unquenchable thirst for vengeance inherited by his illegitimate son, Bruce.

Keyser Söze (The Usual Suspects) is another alias forJohn Doe (Se7en.) Also, Mr Pink (Reservoir Dogs) goes into hiding after the diamond heist taking the part of a guy who likes to bowl, Donny, from The Big Lebowski.

So it's not 2 characters...but for over a decade my wife has been insisting... Nic Cage is Tom Hanks. Tom Hanks is Nic Cage. Think about it...just think about it.

Joel in Risky Business (1983) and Dr. Bill in Eyes Wide Shut (1999). if you assume Joel went to Princeton but decided to change his major from business to medicine...it's easy to believe the teen who started his own brothel would end up in Jeffery Epstein's universe.

Two movies: one is full of silly and outlandish set pieces with highly animated action, featuring a cool character who carries with him raw carrots and eats them being chased by an angry character with big guns, and the other features Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam.

Old films: “In Love with a Proper Stranger” Steve McQueen’s mom is played by Augusta Ciolli. She also plays Marty’s Aunt Caterina in “Marty” So she’s the same character in both films. Marty and Rocky are cousins but don’t get along, so there’s no mention of either of them to each other.

Inversely: James Bond is multiple people. It is FAR more fun to watch the Bond movies with the idea that Bond is a drunk driving whorish man-grenade tolerated entirely because it's a title passed between agents sent at ridiculously high-danger targets and as such they have the lifespan of a mayfly.

I've always sort of taken the alternate universe in the DC Earth 1 and Earth 2 different eras/timescales kind of position on the film Bonds. This would also account for the differences from book Bond, not to mention the 1967 Casino Royale.

I'll give you THREE. After his arrest in HEAVYWEIGHTS, Tony Perkis got into a job rehab program and ends up as the guard in HAPPY GILMORE. Using his money illicitly earned overworking the elderly, he changes his name to White Goodman and starts Globo Gym leading up to DODGEBALL.

I've always had a theory that the guy in the Bryan Adams song "Everything I Do I Do For You" and the guy in his song "I'll Run To You" are the same guy, just at different times in his life. He's a psycho sociopath who is obsessed with a girl and then a few years later brags about cheating on her.

This guy who after a traumatic experience with an obsessed fan decided to swap the dangerous world of being an author for a desk job in the safer world of publishing where no unhinged oddball would ever barge into his life & psychologically torture him again.

Nothing will ever be funnier to me than them casting the same dude as both stars of Suits.

Slightly outside the bounds of the question, but I think that Mary Poppins and Pennywise the Clown are members of the same species, they just have different favorite foods.

My favorite moment in Mary Poppins is when Bert is egging Mary on to take them all into the chalk art. The look on his Trickster face… This is a dangerous fucking sidhe game you’re playing in front of the mortals, Puck! (Spoiler: it turns out okay and there are penguins)

In the Kingiverse, he has a more generic term for these creatures, psychic vampires. Pennywise feeds off fear. The Katet encounters one that feeds off laughter in the dark tower series. And Holly Gibney encounters one that feeds off anguish and suffering in The Outsider
