Vermont. I sure love it here.

Vue@creativecadre.bsky.social

The northern Green Mountains of Vermont, near the Smugglers Notch area. I got this video along a small path near the road, at the highest point along the scenic road. #fall #autumn #mountains #leaves #nature #travel #hiking

I’m finally knitting something just for me. A sweater. It’s merino wool and silk. Finally, this winter I’ll have a hand knitted sweater. The pattern is Salty Days by Kutovakika. I love her designs. I want to make them all. Here’s the progress for today. It’s the upper back. #knitting #knitsky

Congrats!

Takeaways from the two top candidates for govenor of Vermont.

VTDigger@vtdigger.bsky.social

The two candidates for governor proposed starkly different approaches to Vermont’s biggest challenges but kept things friendly between them in their first debate, hosted by Vermont Public.

I love color theory. There are so many fun surprises.

Digital Brain@yourdigitalbrain.bsky.social

A lab accident in 2009 produced YInMn blue, the first new inorganic blue pigment in over 200 years. It resists heat, light and moisture, and it even keeps roofs cooler.

I like to vote in person on Election Day. But if you were planning to mail in your Vermont ballot it’s too late. So, here’s what you need to do.

Vermont Public@vermontpublic.org

🗳️ If you haven’t mailed your ballot yet — for example, if you want to wait for Vermont Public's gubernatorial debate tonight — you can return it through a more direct method, such as your town’s drop box. Read more: https://sbrew.link/rqXLTJQe

We had school field trips to the Wonderbread and Hostess factories in Detroit in the 1960s. I still remember some of that. Especially the free Twinkies!

When I was young, my parents would visit places like this when we traveled. I saw the Plymouth Vermont Cheese Factory multiple times and got to see their process. Visited Busch Gardens brewery in Florida and it stank. Always fun places to visit.

As I expected, I accidentally found them. One baby was almost down to the mom, who is on the ground. I don’t know where the 2nd baby is. That tree is in the worst possible place for this. But it seems the bears are slowing working it out while the officials do traffic/people control.

Jesse and I said good-morning to Middlebury, Vermont’s three bears. #vermont #bears

I don’t remember the Red Baron going down behind enemy lines! Ha! IT’S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLEY BROWN is still awesome. ❤️ I watched it on Apple TV.

So far the woolly worms are a mixed bag. But I have found that here in Vermont, it is the 2nd wave of them that are accurate. Right now it’s too soon to tell, some say very mild winter and others quite harsh.

The Amble Club@theambleclub.bsky.social

Here’s an Old country saying I grew up with: if they build low to the ground, it’ll be a mild winter. If they build high, it’ll be a hard winter. This one was from Vermont a couple years ago. What have you always heard — and what’s it looking like where you are this year? 👀❄️

A gang of juvenile #ravens moved in on my buddies, a long term mated raven pair in my neighborhood. I’m worried about them. The gang split the pair and attacked them at the same time this afternoon. Tonight I saw the 5 juveniles go into the woods next to my house. I wish I knew how to run them off.

And now it’s time to relax. I’m loading up BEST MEDICINE and then for dessert I’ll throw myself into another filthy, disgusting episode of SLOW HORSES. I think we’ll know when it’s the final season. There will be a tell. Oldman will take a bath.

That’s very helpful.

Gotta give vinegar a try. Dad gave me a Craftsman tool set in the 80s. I made one of those roll-up organizers (each wrench has its own sleeve) and my toolbox stayed in the barn where it got damp and rusted many of the wrenches. Would be nice to fix that. #tools youtube.com/shorts/fD4Rk...

Today I put up 5 small jars of green tomato ferments. The season is over. I’m very happy my neighbor shared what was left of her garden’s goods. I’m already planning my tomato pickle party for one in my head. Only 4 weeks until my big day! #gardening #ferments

@ihnatko.bsky.social hi, Andy! I just watched you on MacBreak Weekly. Sooo, how difficult is it to give up the car for an e-bike? I’ve been wishing I could give up mine. But what do you do when the New England winter happens? I’m in VT. Tell me all your secrets on how you made this happen

Today I can no longer turn off my iPad. It says to slide to power off. The bar doesn’t slide. My safari browsers no longer has a place to type in url. What is going on?? #apple
