I hope this email finds you, binds you ties you to a pole and breaks your fingers to splinters drags you to a hole until you wake up naked clawing at the ceiling of your grave ooooooh-whooooooah

launching an ai powered feed generator, competing with companies with Graze that have popped up in the ecosystem is such a strange decision. haven’t they been telling people that 1. they’re all about the protocol not the product, and 2. building on atproto is a good business decision

the people are begging, literally begging for private data and real 2FA, instead we are presented with ai powered nonsense that competes with the AT ecosystem :) making a feed (the old way) is one of the easiest ways to learn about the protocol and serve your community, why discourage it?

would be great if people stopped spreading atproto misinformation (this is being worked on and there are ways to add private data)

If Bluesky doesn't ingest you, your posts never even enter the dataset. It's like letting you customize playlists while Spotify quietly swiss-cheeses your library. I'm not saying this is going to happen. I'm saying it's likely to happen, if these dynamics continue.

on the appview side, we now have a new swanky Trending 📈 section in the timeline! the algorithm is pretty simplistic for now, but it should be fun to see popular repos! the settings page also received a much needed overhaul!

really cool that that the vscode + discord + spotify combo makes the fans on a reasonably new and powerful laptop spin. i love modern software

switching back to nvim because apparently the only extensible software is electron or terminal based. (forgot about obsidian too that can’t be helping)

could i use the atproto did documents (and the contained signing key) to get a free semi-decentralised user and login system for some non-atproto software i’m working on. sounds way easier then dealing with oauth

imagine if smalltalk was strongly typed and low level and had pattern matching and other functional stuff and also messages word themselves could be values and it was made by an idiot who doesn’t understand type theory properly

You are up to date.
