Yawn. In other news * My Mercedes isn't as comfortable as it used to be * Business class flights are as luxurious as they used to be * 66 express lane tolls are so unfair * it's so expensive to heat my 8BR McLean mansion northernvirginiamag.com/style/shoppi...

Drivers can always try......not driving into DC at rush hour

The dirty little secret about the last entrance to the Express Lanes going north from VA into DC is the more expensive it is the more likely you'll hit a wall of traffic. $12.80 & the traffic is worse than the free lanes. (before you judge I'm a passenger & the company is paying)

These five Maine Cheesecake Factory employees are irate over President Obama's recent comments. They say they'll be voting Republican in the midterms.

On that note: Willard is a coward. Villanova has been irrelevant since Jay Wright retired and Willard doesn't have the skills nor savvy to turn that Titanic around.

Good for Temple for dropping Villanova, make them pay for shitting on the Big 5. GW needs to sack up and do the same, while it's nice that GW has played Gtown at home for exhibition, GW needs to hold out for a regular season game and stop counting the $ it gets for that home game.

A retired NYPD detective was arraigned on a manslaughter charge on Thursday in the death of Koran Irvine, a Con Edison worker who was shot and killed this week on the George Washington Bridge in what prosecutors said was a road rage incident.

DC lawmakers led by Phil and R White, fall over themselves to pander to scofflaw drivers.

New proposals are reviving discussions around whether D.C. should reduce the fines associated with parking and traffic tickets, with some lawmakers contemplating fully cutting them in half while others propose doing away with the practice of doubling fines after 30 days.

Someone should inform WAMU that mutually agreeing to part ways does not mean a coach is stepping down, i.e. Mike Locksley. Locksley is not resigning. He's being fired and the university is dressing it up as not being a firing.

This guy was caught on video committing one of the worst road rage incidents I've ever seen, plowing into a group of riders—and then he left the scene. Seriously, fuck the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for framing him as some sort of a victim. You are complicit assholes. www.ajc.com/news/2026/10...

IMO the quintessential tension between riders and many motorists is this tug of war over one group's personal safety versus the other group's convenience. Then you see the pattern—that as a default, many people advocate for their own benefit or preferences at the expense of a larger public good.

I walk past the Koons dealership at 7 and 123 to get to work and it's overflowing with oversized, gas guzzling murder machines that aren't selling for obvious reasons. Koons' strategy for moving this monsters is to better position the biggest ones on the service drive so drivers see them better.

Ugh, no way. Though he was so good in his role in Office Space you thought he would drop dead of a heart attack imminently "I deal with the god damn customers so the engineers don't have to! I'm a people person!"

The people who object to paying property tax are the same people who oppose bike lanes and building multifamily housing in the neighborhood and student debt relief. They see themselves as conservative or libertarian but in reality they just want government to focus on serving their interests.

general take on Waymo I want transit not robocabs. I also want Waymo fighting drivers (the actual enemy) because, unlike the bike lobby, they have money to fight Need regulations to protect pedestrians, bike lanes, etc, of course, but those are secondary for them vs drivers clogging roads for free

Politics of Cars@thismachinekillsfascists.bike

basically, how large is the difference between this policy proposal and the optimal policy for car owners who plan to keep driving in the city for every trip? I'd expect that delta to be larger.

The only thing that could make this a chef's kiss is if the story was paired next to a column of Henry Payne getting his rocks off on some exotic Dodge Viper that goes 200 mph and where only 200 cars were made.

Congrats to the MD press corps for appropriately reponding to Harris' tantrum. The WH press corps would have cowered in fear and waited until they reported their stories to fact check him.

They have streeteries all over CDMX. I wonder if CDMX's rich bitch about streeteries taking up parking like the rich do in DC?

Two things about weather in CDMX-- 1) I don't know if it's jusr Weather Underground or not, but WU is completely worthless here. Checked the weather before I left, no precip spotted on the radar for anywhere in the region 2) It is now raining apocalyptically here

Omg, I made to Chilpancingo, the station near my hotel and maybe 3 miles from where I last posted, and not a drop of rain here.
