I am going to attempt (badly) to explain why this is so cool, not just because of the medicine itself but because of the science behind how they made it, please no one tell the chemists how inaccurate this is about to be
pretty pretty wild to get a nyt alert for the project my husband has been working on for decade 🥰

really think that if democrats hold any chamber of congress next year that a condition of passing a budget is the removal of russ vought, who has a genuinely tyrannical vision of presidential power and is a focal point of the lawlessness of the trump administration
I don’t think people really understand how bad the OMB proposed rule is going to be for state and local govt. We’re talking about putting a full third of state budgets under the explicit control of Russ Vought. (1/2) www.bondbuyer.com/news/cities-...

The White House budget proposal is out. Suggests cutting $5B from the NIH budget, to $41B. A similar cut to what was suggested in FY26, and which lawmakers rebutted. (But, keep in mind, the FY26 appropriated money has not been granted as you'd expect.) www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/u...

Congress rejected massive cuts to US science budgets for 2026, but much of the money still isn’t flowing to researchers. The culprit? The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is quietly slow-walking the release of funds. 🧵👇

My student Lauren discovered this new(?) demo with sprinkles + LN₂! I haven't been able to find anywhere else that's reported this, but let me know if you've seen it before.
When sprinkles are submerged in liquid nitrogen, they rapidly cool to −196 °C, causing the trapped moisture and air inside them to contract and the sugar structure to become brittle. cen.acs.org/education/Ch... #CENChemPics #chemsky 🧪
