We’re taking our Makerspaces off campus and into the community! 🚌🔧 Currently in the Northern Territory visiting rural schools and community centres, the UNSW Engineering Makerbus is filled with a range of tools and equipment designed to give young kids hands-on STEMM experiences.

Abhishek joins our Team as a PhD student – Abhishek will work on polysaccharide-based nanosystems for therapeutic applications. Welcome to our labs, and good luck with your experiments!  #UNSW #UNSWEngineering #UNSWChemEng #WichLab

My Annual Reminder: Mark Your Calendars! On this day in 4 years, there will be an epic Total Solar Eclipse in #Australia On 22 July 2028, the sky above #Sydney will turn dark for 3 min and 45 sec! And #UNSW will be right in the centre. #SolarEclipse #Eclipse2028 #SolarEclipse2028

This year's #solareclipse fun fact: “The element helium was discovered on 18 Aug 1868 by the French astronomer Jules Janssen (1824-1907) when he observed the spectrum of the Sun during a total eclipse, hence the name “helium” from helios."

Thrilled to have been awarded a 2025 Future Fellowship by the Australian Research Council (ARC). Huge thanks to my team, collaborators & #UNSW for the support. Goal: enzyme-based nanoparticles to reprogram cells for #biomanufacturing to #medicine and #foodtechnology www.unsw.edu.au/newsroom/new...

unsw.edu.auSeven UNSW researchers recognised with ARC Future FellowshipsThe mid-career researchers received more than $8.2 million for a wide range of projects that will benefit the nation.

Backed by $1.13M in funding, the project will engineer biocatalytic nanoparticles that perform complex reactions inside cells, a platform for next-gen therapeutics, sustainable biomanufacturing, and precision agriculture. #ARC #FutureFellowship #WichLab #biopolymers #enzymes #nanoparticles ⸻

Great visit by Harm-Anton Klok (#EPFL Lausanne) today at #UNSW. His talk on "Expanding the Scope of Surface-Initiated Polymerization" showcased how #polymer brushes can be engineered for piezo/pyroelectric films, opening exciting paths for energy harvesting, solar cells, and electrolysis.
