Go play 70% Complete’s 2025 Game of the Year, Duskpunk, RIGHT NOW. It’s an incredible tale of solidarity, the messiness of protest and coalition building, and making your home better. It was the story I needed this time last year and we all need it today.

Indie Game Picks@indiegamepicks.bsky.social

Our friend at Clockwork Bird just released Duskpunk to both PS5 and Switch! Great chance to remember this awesome game, that I really adored. #indiegame #indiedev #indiegames #indiegamedev @jamespatton.bsky.social indiegamepicks.wordpress.com/2025/12/10/d...

The Roads Have Eyes! 👁️ Turn on the Surveillance Layer in Map Options to see known license plate readers from Flock Safety, Motorola Solutions (Vigilant), Genetec, Axis Communications, Axon, Leonardo (ELSAG), Neology, Rekor, PlateSmart, Ubicquia, Verkada, and other outdoor surveillance cameras.

Even the small snippets of text point to such a cohesive, rich world I want to know more about. Jusant is such a master class of world design in both art and text. “When there’s no water, everything seems so fragile.” The whole world written down at the bottom of a missable letter about seagulls.

Andrey Surnov's concept work for Jusant in my brain again this morning. Can't think of a game set among ruins that made me more desperate to see more of its world. So few games manage such an original and rich aesthetic, so sad the team never got to make more.

Also, totally unrelated. I super want a crew blazer all of a sudden

I’ve been slowly watching The Prisoner (thanks Library digital loan through Kanopy!) and the hokey camera work in this show is 1. Hilarious and 2. Aspirational to me

My lack of experience with shows and film of the era is definitely showing, but it’s such a serious but campy show through what’s happening on screen AND how it’s being depicted. And I love how much the camera work is just part of the show

As a creator still trying to figure out what the hell a video essay looks like that can be informative, focused, and theatrical, it’s so cool to see shots in that show I’ve never seen before and think “oh, I could do that”. I don’t need an imax camera or a crazy rig. Just a tripod and some gumption

I’ve spent most of my adult life wearing an Apple Watch and, after a week in Hawaii without a charger, and forgetting to wear it the past few days, it’s very weird unwinding the gamification of movement…and trying to figure out if it’s a positive force or not.

If a massive video isn’t enough for you, we’re also launching The Design of Power, a collection of essays, videos, and podcast episodes that use games to explore the fraught relationship between power and design. The first essay is available now! www.70percentcomplete.com/the-design-of-power/

I’ve heard similar thing in the software engineering space. The problem is that those same engineers that deny jobs to “AI natives,” don’t quite see the contradiction. “Of course, we use it everyday…but if you mention using it extensively in an interview, big red flag.”

With the Xbox news, it’s becoming much more obvious every day why so many indie devs are pivoting to mobile ports too. Golden Lap, possibly Caves of Qud, and Disco Elysium. When hardware is astronomically expensive, mobile development isn’t a nice to have, it becomes paramount to survival

Nothing is more telling about the state of AI quite like driving into SF and every billboard is for AI tech companies I’ve never heard of…instead of for like car dealerships or scammy car accident lawyers Your ad spend is telling on you
