Only showing on my phone, not in android auto. Kind limits the usefulness in avoiding the car spy cameras if I can't see them while driving my car!

I think we all owe Mapquest a collective apology for abandoning them out of laziness for all these years cuz Google Maps was already on my phone (at least that's what it was for me). Thank you for being a breath of fresh air from the current tech companies. Don't let them try to buy you out!

your app is sadly not available in my region (europe) but this feature was what made me want to install it. keep up the good work and I hope to become a user one day!

Are you kidding me? There are 3 LPR’s within 1/4 mile of my house - in the neighborhoods! I literally can’t leave the house by car without passing one. What’s going on San Diego?

Last time you and I saw each other we were learning to drive and printing out directions. Welcome back!

Sadly, it keeps crashing in GrapheneOS. I've been using a combo of Waze, FlockFree and DeFlock and was hoping this would work as it looks like a great alternative. Sadly, it won't, but I'll def hype it for anyone who doesn't use Graphene. Happy to see a non-Quisling company for a change! Keep it up!

Who's got time to look at a map when you're driving to see whats close by? Use iTagTip, we have loaded 120,000+ ALPRs in our Location Based Platform and the app (not a website) will notify you when you are close to one of the cameras. It's free. Download iTagTip and install the ALPR Cameras (FLOCK)

You could have advertised your app without being an ass. MapQuest is doing an incredible job and is on the good side. If you need to tear down a company to advertise your product you immediately lose my interest and ensure I will reject your app and company. Just a free marketing tip for you.

Lose my interest and RESPECT to be clear. I ignore products from companies I don't respect. You could have played along and made it a fun working together thing instead of... that. Looks like a great idea, just don't engage in friendly fire dude, not cool, we're on the same side.

"ALPRs" use AI-driven vehicle fingerprinting & video capture to identify cars & track the movement of pedestrians and vehicle occupants. They link across a vast network and integrate them with commercial data brokers, reconstructing a person's travel history and link to their real-world identity.

Any chance you fixed the massive battery drain? I had to delete it because of that (worse than Pokemon go, which is amazing).

Updated the app and sure enough there they are. Weirdly, There are not many in the small town where I live. There's only about four of them, and they are all around the home depot. HMM.

That’s a lot of cameras. I really hope nobody vandalises them using guides they’ve found on the internet which point out how to do it quickly and be undetected.

You need to remove your elected officials, Barnwell, and get new ones who will cancel and remove all the surveillance BS!

Is there a way to report one? Y'all are missing one that's around the corner from me, but also it's one of the oldest alprs I've ever seen, even older than my knowledge of what the technology was.

Cool! Though with Apple Maps, I wish I could turn OFF the surveillance layer, aka red-light camera warnings. Yes, I know there's a camera there, there's also a red light to tell me if I need to stop. Speed-trap warnings are ok, though I last got one on a freeway crawling at 25mph :-)

We have a few in my area, nothing like your map. Also, the red peering triangle, or whatever you should call it, what it is? Out of all my eyes on my map there is only 1 with with that.

My county just dropped their ALPR contracts because citizens came to meetings and complained. There were 4 people, including myself, who spoke at the one I went to about it. GO TO YOUR PUBLIC MEETINGS AND SPEAK OUT! IT ACTUALLY WORKS!

I just wish it was able to choose the best routes for traffic and take HOV lanes into consideration like Waze does. As much as I like Mapquest compared to the other options, socially, it’s not practical for my uses of GPS.

It is part of the resistance. Google donates to the Trump regime. To the ballroom. To the surveillance. We 💙 Mapquest.

@mapquest.com I was really interested, but then I saw this.... And ummm this seems like a No. Am I misunderstanding something? "This app may share these data types with third parties - Location, App activity and 2 others This app may collect these data types - Location, Financial info and 2 others"

Can you guys add pins to the map whenever I search for anything? I want to be able to see all the gas station or whatever around me because I can’t visualize what it takes to get there by seeing a list with distance in miles on it ty

@mapquest.com - cool feature but to substantively market yourselves with privacy focused would love clarity on your privacy policy. Map location data tracks people too, and your parent company policy seems to allow sharing precise location data with ad partners. 👀 Apple Maps, meanwhile, doesn't.

Have you tried clicking these little squares I've circled? Then a screen with default and satellite and the surveillance toggle should pop up. It should be more obvious/intuitive to find maybe @mapquest.com a lot of people are struggling to find it

Also literally only tho g stopping me from using it as my default is a “I drive a hybrid” option bc it’s v nice to optimize routes with that info
