“Y’see, what Mister Obama fails to understand about America is most of her citizens are dumb as shit, and think the Cheesecake Factory is the fanciest restaurant they could ever possibly dine at”

Can only assume they’re collecting the names of everyone who orders this into some sort of drone strike list.

Woke up at 3:30 thinking about Greedo’s last words… Maclunkey. Just feels good to say it. “Maclunkey.” Really sound out every syllable.

Had to delete Threads. The algorithm over there is insidious. It’s the twitter clone you don’t have to try to sign up for. If you’re on facebook or instagram you already have an account, and that means the majority of the posters are dipshits who don’t even know about posting.

While twitter has a truly evil aura about it, Threads is equal parts stupid and insane. The algo started serving me nonstop evangelicals whining about atheists, boomers from Iowa who want all Muslims to be deported, and so much AI slop. It has to be engagement farming but what’s the upside?

But it isn’t even cool, it’s just jingling keys for people who say “actually it’s ephebophilia”

do think there's a danger of looking at extremely cool shit like a car driving upside down then doing a kickflip before landing, and convincing yourself it's actually lame because the guy funding it is a white supremacist

Was watching a video where someone said “hey siri, call mom” and then my phone called my mom. It rang once and I hung up, but then my mom called me back, and that’s how I found out my stepdad’s stepdad died.

Thought I’d change things up by swapping my left and right work monitors but it ended up freaking me out so bad I got confused about where actual physical stuff was in the kitchen and on my desk.

Someone posted in the teams work chat that some program we all use wasn’t working, and everyone agreed it’s been giving them problems, but I said it was working fine for me (it was) so now I’m sure everyone hates me.

There’s a podcast I’ve been listening to since 2019, and one of the original hosts has been making it nearly unlistenable over the last few months. Embarrassing asides that take way too long, interjections about their personal lives that have nothing to do with the subject. It’s bad.

I’ve got Control Resonant ready to go, but I’ve just been looking at bad screen for 11-12 hours and I don’t know if I want to look at any more screens tonight.

For the fourth year in a row I got both the flu shot and the Covid shot, and for the fourth year in a row all I feel is a little sore in the arm where I got the flu shot.

For the longest time I refused to call it “9/11” opting to say the full “September 11th” because I thought reducing it down to a catchphrase didn’t reflect the “dignity” the day should have. Then somewhere between 2016 and 2020, I stopped believing anything in this country had dignity.

Anyway, I have 3 9/11 memories: first, me and some friends had a sociology class at 9am and no one was capable of saying anything. Second, we went to McDonald’s right after and I had the bagel breakfast sandwich and it was the greatest thing I’ve ever had from McDonald’s.

Third, I went to the theater I was managing to put up a sign that said “due to today’s events we are closed for the day” and someone who wanted to see a movie yelled at me as I was putting it up. It was a weird day and yet it followed the same schedule as most days did.

Without fail, these dipshits think that if they maybe concede a few republican talking points and throw trans people under the bus republicans will stop calling them communists. And every time, all they do is look like servile fucking worms and conservatives still call them communists.

Talarico: "I oppose trans athletes playing in girls' sports if it endangers safety or fairness"

The screenshotted post is pathetic, obviously, but it set off something in my mind that I’ve been thinking about recently. The idea of “submission” is so horrifying to me that I get angry just hearing the word. It is so repulsive to me that I couldn’t imagine demanding it from someone else.

sorry for screenshotting some twitter rando but you guys need to see this

I’ve been trying to unpack why I have such a strong reaction, and I can only conclude that something happened to me as a kid that made me hate authority so much that I still haven’t grown out of it. This has extended to other applications of the “submission” idea as well. Fucks with my head.
