Eye-opening story.

There is a corner of the internet I had never heard of before I started reporting this story. It’s called the “burnerverse”: a network of anon burner accounts ostensibly discussing college sports. But they have another goal: destroying young girls’ lives.🧵: www.wired.com/story/burner...

I was so indecisive that I could never settle on the perfect 8. Maybe I saved myself more than I realized after all…another excellent piece by @ernie.tedium.co with plenty of modern day lessons hitting us square in the pocketbook.

I just finished up a complete rewrite of my 2015 Columbia House piece. I more explicitly underline the story underneath the story: Every sketchy SaaS business model has roots in business models like Columbia House. tedium.co/2026/08/24/c... updated @tedium.co

Ride high, you Mustangs!

The 2025-2026 Non-NCAA National Championships (Part 4) presented by the Sickos Committee! Check out all the Non-NCAA Champions from the past year! More parts to come, including all the insanity of Rugby and Cheerleading in the next ones.

Not made of dog. Grilled with those little char marks for some extra crispiness. Mustard and onions.

Absolutely incredible. 20 years since the last time I was on one of those and whether columns or embers I don’t think I’ll ever not be fascinated by its force and majesty and chaos.

Absolutely crazy timelapse from the Aspen Acres Fire today. This video was shot near Colorado City. She was angry. Ignore the chipmunks in my car :) #cofire #aspenacresfire #Colorado #pueblo #fire #cowx #stormchasers #mountains

According to Public Citizen (as reported by Federal News Network), the Deferred Resignation Program paid 140K employees at least $11B not to work (until their separate dates). Over 275K federal employees have left since January 2025 (through a variety of means).

Some experts voted for him twice—once for each term. “Much more corrupt and dangerous to the Constitution than all of the others on this list combined,” observed author and columnist Jonathan Alter. Thank you for your attention to this matter. trib.al/1nkACsI

The only thing people hate more than AI are the sociopaths shoving it down our throats.

Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt was booed throughout this commencement speech at the University of Arizona for his praise of AI. This comes just a week after another commencement speaker who mentioned AI was booed at a school in Florida. Read more: www.404media.co/ucf-ai-comme...

I propose Colorado’s 2nd state motto (after “Nil sine numine”) be: “Our arrival into Denver will be bumpy, folks, so we’re suspending cabin service early.” In Latin (Google Translate) “Adventus noster Denverium inaequalis erit, amici, itaque officium vecturae in conclavi ante tempus suspendemus.”

Mortality > Transmissibility. Be concerned. Be very concerned. And don’t go stock piling toilet paper, jerks.

NEW: Infectious disease experts are concerned the CDC and NIH aren’t doing enough to respond the hantavirus outbreak. “This, to me, not overstating it, is a travesty,” one said. More here: www.notus.org/health-scien...

I’m not certain this can get beyond “the best conference champ isn’t even there…” How does this not make it even more reason for the BIG 4 to come closer to booting the G6 team from the CFP (the G6 clearly have their own championship so they clearly don’t need to come to the CFP)?

Bruh, as my kids would say. SMH ASU.

Meet “ASU Atomic,” a subscription platform that claims to offer customized learning modules for fee-paying users. None of the ASU faculty whose course materials were harvested for the module I generated were aware that their image, lectures, lessons, or other teaching materials are being used.

My alma mater doesn’t need to know that I donated in the name of another school. Just this once.

Absolutely incredible show. The angles and no music unquestionably heighten each scene and make me the viewer engage if I want to be in the story with the characters. Brilliant show.

Researching for a fire history of the Kaibab Plateau - my response to the Dragon Bravo fire -I found the jobs and pay for fed firefighters in 1946. You could be a legit flunky (paid more than an unskilled firefighter). Glad to see smokechasing as a distinctive category. Highest paid? Head cook.

Maybe there can be an ad where the infielder catches a Taco Bell breakfast burrito line drive blasted straight into the glove. He then grips said blasted burrito and instead of throwing to get the runner out, he takes a giant bite and follows with a quippy line about thirst quenching blastedness.

You may have missed or been befuddled by the announcement that Mountain Dew Baja Blast is now the official soft drink of Major League Baseball, but you simply weren’t considering the potential brand activations. You know, like a Heart of the Hide Baja Blast glove:
