That’s how polls work, dipshit.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Mike Johnson: "When I'm in these big arenas, I ask for hands -- 'Show me your hand if you've answered a poll in the last six months.' There will be like three hands among 300 people. I'm telling you, these polls are off. All of them."

I cannot believe there are still people that believe this bullshit.

Most billionaire wealth isn't in yachts or jewelry — that's just a few percent of it. Most is productive business capital: companies that employ people, build things, and fund research. Tax that wealth and you're taxing the businesses that employ us all. Cato's Adam Michel explains.

It’s only rigged if it says we suck.

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

Trump: "The fake news media is trying to demoralize Republican voters with rigged polls, but as you can see here tonight, our movement is the strongest it's ever been in the history of our country. A CNN poll had 98% approval among MAGA Republicans…That's not bad."

When this grinning idiot is your go to for morning spin you’ve already lost.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

HASSETT: If people were unhappy, it'd show up in the data TAPPER: It seems to be showing up in the data, just not the data you're looking at

Still a ways to go but looking like a blue tsunami.

I’m not sure what polling he’s seeing because I’ve never seen her leading or tied in a non partisan poll but I also don’t think the DSCC should ignore her either.

Qasim Rashid, Esq.@qasimrashid.com

Another fundraising text from DSCC that ignores Angie Nixon—even as polling shows her tied at 47-47, poised to flip Florida Blue! Dem Party praises Black women as its base then refuses to give Black women candidates the resources needed to win. Donate to Angie: secure.actblue.com/donate/frien...

Not sure this will matter but holy shit the left is terrible at messaging. Just say “No”. That’s it.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Francesca Hong was asked last night by Kaitlin Collins if she still believes Thanksgiving should be canceled. Her answer was not 'no.'

It’s going to be 2014-esque. The GB lead for GOP was relatively small but depressed D turnout (second term midterm) and a more engaged R voting base led to a bad night. Not completely apples to apples (D GB lead is bigger) but getting that vibe at its core.

G Elliott Morris@gelliottmorris.com

Likely voters for this year's midterms lean more Democratic than registered voters or all adults, a change from last cycle. Democrats are +9 among self-described likely voters in this month's Strength In Numbers/Verasight poll, vs +7 among RVs. www.gelliottmorris.com/p/2026-07-22...

I look at LG as a tragic figure in the literal sense. He could’ve been a profile in courage if he’d followed his conscious but instead chose to embrace a ghoul who hated him. But I can’t do what some ppl do on here and generate some sort of joy over someone dying. It’s just not in me to do that.

NC is likely D. Let’s stop pretending

There aren’t enough votes to remove. But man, I’d love to see someone grill Alito and Thomas on their bullshit.

Ned Resnikoff@resnikoff.bsky.social

Again, if there's a Democratic majority in the House in 2027, I think it's imperative that they start impeaching Supreme Court justices.

God, they’re shitting themselves. I love it.

Acyn@acyn.bsky.social

Johnson: If we lose the midterms, these Democrats will turn every committee of Congress into an investigative body, and they'll go after the president's family, the cabinet, his donors, friends, half of you in this room will be targeted. I run the protection program. We’ll take care of you.

Hart Cunningham@hart28.bsky.social

Michigan Governor caught on hot mic with Oracle CEO Clay Magouyrk, discussing citizen opposition to AI data centers, bragging how she ignores their concerns: “We’re used to people saying 'f*ck no,' & doing it anyway.”🇺🇸

Every accusation is a confession or something

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

Trump on Platner: "I watched that thug that's up in Maine. He's a thug. And they're trying to make excuses for him. I mean, he's worse than any human being that's ever run for office probably…And you'll have Schumer, he'll go crazy over this or that or Epstein…He's a thug."

People from the city get annoyed when ppl from the suburbs say they’re “from Chicago” but it’s more of a mild irritant than anything. New Yorkers are far more militant (and obnoxious) about stuff like this. (Not that Chicago is not a culturally powerful city)

Jason Kirk@jasonkirk.fyi

What is the least culturally powerful city where people do the "you're not a real [local]" thing, because New York is very very far from the only one

This bozo is so in over his head it’s comical.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

RAJU: But what evidence is there to prove the California election is rigged? MIKE JOHNSON: Look, some of these efforts are so diabolical and so far upstream it's impossible to prove. But I think everybody knows instinctively that something is wrong here.

I get that it’s a bit of a bubble but I also get that the vast majority of us are a) aware of this and b) are totally fine with it. I have zero interest in going back to the old place.

David Slack@slack2thefuture.bsky.social

The thing about “Bluesky is a bubble” takes is that they start with the false assumption that social media is our job or some sort of responsibility. This isn’t my job. It’s probably not yours, either. It’s not our responsibility to ruin our days on a Nazi hellsite or to talk to dummies here.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Bezos on Trump: "I think he's a more mature, more disciplined of himself than he was in his first term. Trump has lots of good ideas. He's been right about a lot of things. You have to give him credit where credit is due."

I refuse to give money to this rag anymore so didn’t read. But the Democrats are on track to pick up 25-30 seats even with these new seats. And that’s without them doing anything in Blue states to counter.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Republicans are eight seats closer to keeping control of the House since President Trump pushed state lawmakers to redraw congressional maps, steepening the Democrats’ climb toward reclaiming any hold on federal power in November.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

BASH: You and your fellow Democrats have used some heated rhetoric against the president. Do you think twice about that when something like that happens? RASKIN: What rhetoric do you have in mind? BASH: That he's terrible for this country and so on and so forth

If you need more proof of what a despicable piece of sh-t Ron Johnson is here’s example 4,268.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Ron Johnson: "Even more deviously, they trained activists to obstruct justice, encouraged them to put themselves in harm's way, they got two martyrs, then they used their martyrs as their excuse to try to defund law enforcement"

I’m not sure Mullin is getting 50 votes. PROBABLY but….

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

MARKWAYNE MULLIN: I get it. It's about character assassination for you. You're making this about you RAND PAUL: It's 'character assassination' when you were the one lauding the assault?!

These are abysmal numbers and the national media caveating it will send me into orbit.

“They found plenty of stuff”. Uh huh.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "They have the ballots. That should be no problem, right? FBI came in and raided. They found plenty of stuff. Now they have the ballots. And Democrats are fighting like hell to not let anybody see the ballots. Why don't they want them to see the ballots? Because they cheated like dogs."

The performative outrage greatest hits continues.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Ron Johnson to Keith Ellison: "Two people are dead because you encouraged them to put themselves into harm's way! And now you are exploiting those two martyrs. You ought to feel damn guilty about it. Yeah, sit there and smirk. Smirk. It's sick! It's despicable. You disgust me."

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Peter Navarro: "The jobs report comes out tomorrow. We have to revise our expectations down significantly for what a monthly job number should look like ... Wall Street has to adjust for the fact that we're deporting millions of illegals out of the job market."

It’s not gonna go well for GOP in November

MeidasTouch@meidastouch.com

NEWS: Democrat Chasity Martinez has won the Louisiana HD-60 special election, defeating Republican Brad Daigle and holding the seat. Martinez won 63%–37%. Trump carried the district by 13 points in 2024. Another major Democratic overperformance.

The Cope. Coming this November.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Rep. Pete Sessions on Republicans losing a special election in a red part of Texas: "The success of a rain dance has a lot to do with timing. What happened is there was a huge snow storm, ice storm really that hit north Texas and central Texas."

If EMERSON is finding essentially a tie in TEXAS, GOP might wanna start freaking out about the Senate.

Robert O'Neill@robertoneill31.latenightgrin.com

I do the Big Ten/SEC bit a lot but it really is mesmerizing how little SEC teams seem to care about playing in any non-Playoff bowl game. You're Vanderbilt. You won 10 games. You didn't make the Playoff. That sucks. Have some pride though.

Yeah. I get Walz is kinda/sorta vulnerable I guess. But….Probably not gonna happen, guys. Especially in what is gonna be a really shitty cycle for Rs.
