Need something to play this weekend? Here's a selection of indie games we've been into lately: 🧵

🎉 A couple updates coming your way: 2.8 - New Notifications page collecting releases and price drops for wishlist games - "Next up" suggestions have tighter reasoning - Game pages reliably show all status tiles - Reworked activity feed on the dashboard and profile - Misc design adjustments

"One more thing" update: You can search for and follow studios on postgame. When a game they're working on is released, it'll appear in the activity feed alongside updates from other accounts you follow.

The coolest part about this is that is requires practically *no extra work* from devs and publishers (though insuring your info on @igdb.com and @bsky.app is up-to-date helps). Postgame is usually able to make the link and build the profile.

This Week in Videogames - TWIV@thisweekinvideogames.com

This Week in Videogames has reached its first full year of operation. Thank you to our paid subscribers for helping us sustain an independent, commercial-free, AI-free, and no-nonsense approach to games coverage for everyone. Here's a brief rundown of what we've managed to achieve in Year One:

One of my favourite things to do is flip through the discover page "Time capsule" section and remember all the games that came out around this time over the past decade or so.

Wanted to say, while I haven't been using postgame a lot recently, I just noticed this update today and I think postgame will be my go-to now for game tracking. Looking forward to seeing what's next!

Very close to shipping support for @popfeed.social and @cartridge.dev updates in Postgame. You'll see any games you've added on Popfeed appear in your library, any games you've liked/favourited on either site will also appear as "Loved" games in your profile on Postgame.

If you're using postgame on mobile, you'll notice a better experience as a PWA, less obstructed buttons when adding or editing games, and larger touch targets when rating games.

We've added more detail to game pages including more screenshots, videos, and social updates from Bluesky. You can also "Love" games and have them appear on your profile!

Made some adjustments to the Discover page, including adding new Indie Spotlight and Time Capsule sections. These are meant to showcase some potentially lesser-known games and ones that were released around this time in years past.

Small (but important) update that allows you to browse the site before you sign in. Now you can search for games or view user profiles and lists before setting up your own account.

If you, like me, often struggle with what to play next, our latest update might help. On the dashboard, you'll now see a "Next up" section with some suggestions from your backlog related to your recent plays.

Pushing a new update shortly that gives lists, profiles, and detail pages a bit of love. It also adds tighter integration with Bluesky so updates from studios will appear on pages for their games, like Control Resonant, for example.

I pushed the first of several planned updates to address some recent feedback. First up, an updated add/edit modal that reflects the added game's status. For example, rating won't show if you're adding a game to your wishlist or backlog.

I feel like we have the core features nailed down but is there something you feel that we're missing? Something you expected to be there that isn't? #buildinpublic

✨ New update: - Added a "network" feed in /social so you can see what all users are playing (still defaults to following, natch) - Added @happyview.dev powered "Trending now" section to our /discover page - New layouts for social, lists, and profile pages - Updated list share modal - Reduced scopes!

Bonus: - Also added a persistent "Add game" button to the header - Adjusted the dark colour palette with plans to introduce a light variant soon

✨ New update: - Profile pages have been redesigned - Added the ability to set a custom accent colour - Profiles now show a user's activity feed and following list - Social page has been redesigned - Miscellaneous visual adjustments

✨ New update: - You can mark playthroughs as "replays" - You can start multiple playthroughs - Add/edit game modal has been reworked a bit Happy gaming!

Do you consider shelved games part of a backlog? Still thinking of ways to bucket different statues on the site. #videogames #buildinpublic #atproto

Fixed a little bug in the login flow. If you were getting a sign in error before, it should be all fixed now!

When you think of how you do/would organize your games, does having both a backlog AND a wishlist make sense? I've always struggled with it but I wouldn't want to make any sort of change based solely on my own preferences. #videogames #buildinpublic #atproto

Pushed a decent sized fit-and-finish update tonight with a lot of mobile optimizations, should be easier to use the site on a smaller screen. More improvements coming!
