stunning paper highlighted by @profcolinbean.bsky.social www.cambridge.org/core/journal... Time to change our thinking about fish distributions? This is amazing. Did stone age fishers introduce fishes to Scandinavian mountain lakes 5000 ybp? Were they doing the same elsewhere in Europe?

folks who work in Perú - what restrictions are there to removing fish tissue samples (muscle/otoliths) and baselines (bivalves/gastropods) from the country and to the UK. Samples will be from non-CITES species.

if anyone happens to have sharable phytoplankton or POM d13C/d15N data for the Irish sea either in a paper on sitting on a hard disk, I'd be very happy if you could get in touch! For a student

Hey Bill Gates : Are you familiar with the logical fallacy known as "false dilemma"?

aquatic invert crew. I once worked in a lab where they used small receptacles filled with glass beads that allowed freshwater inverts to be positioned exactly so you could count setae, view gills etc via a dissection microscope. I can't remember what these were called. Anyone got a clue/link?
