Two very famous 80 year olds left us in recent days and they were universally praised for their exemplary lives. Trump must be acutely aware that his grave will become the world’s largest urinal when he goes to hell.

In the field of world policy I would dedicate this nation to the policy of the good neighbor-the neighbor who resolutely respects himself and, because he does so, respects the rights of others- the neighbor who respects the sanctity of his agreements in and with a world of neighbors

I could watch this on a loop until the end of time.

Remarkable camera angle of President Trump as he listens to Wall Street Journal reporters receiving an award for their investigation into Trump’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein — which they pursued despite Trump’s threats and lawsuit.

Doctor Leon Kamin, a proud one time member of the Communist Party during the Red Scare, was recounting his testimony in front of the vile demagogue, Senator Joseph McCarthy, for a documentary.

He said a verse from Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar came to him during his fraught testimony. I think there has rarely been a more appropriate utterance. “Thy threats pass by me as the idle wind, for I am armed so strong in honesty.”

Howard Zinn, the iconic leftist historian, remembering the lion of socialism, Eugene Debs, in The Progressive magazine from 1999. Can’t find anything wrong with this at all. From the piece: But anyone who goes around the country, or reads carefully the public opinion surveys over the past decade,

can see that huge numbers of Americans agree on what should be the fundamental elements of a decent society: guaranteed food, housing, medical care for everyone; bread and butter as better guarantees of “national security” than guns and bombs;

democratic control of corporate power; equal rights for all races, genders, and sexual orientations; a recognition of the rights of immigrants as the unrecognized counterparts of our parents and grandparents; the rejection of war and violence as solutions for tyranny and injustice.

Just thinking about Justice Henry Brown, who in 1898 decided that it was constitutional for Louisiana, and all state legislatures, to allow separate facilities on rail cars for Black people so that whites wouldn’t be forced to ride with them.

Brown wrote that it was necessary to preserve “public peace and good order.” That opinion in Plessy vs. Ferguson was decided correctly according to former Chief Justice William Rehnquist, the man who mentored the sitting chief justice of the Supreme Court, John Roberts.

Weak ass man baby.

🚨BREAKING: TRUMP JUST HAD HIS WORST MELTDOWN YET. Trump completely unravels when Kristen Welker challenged him on his California election claims. He called her "crooked" and "stupid," and abruptly WALKED OUT Thank you, Kristen for challenging his BULLSH*T!

NEWS: The Epstein files are now bound into 3,437 physical volumes in a new exhibition space in Tribeca. Millions of pages. Two stories tall. And yet only two people have ever faced accountability. Katie Phang discusses the rage she felt walking through the space.

1. This is big. It was clear before that SPLC was collecting intelligence on the “Unite the Right” rally in 2017 because of the threat of violence. Now, a new filing from SPLC cites an “Event Alert” the group provided directly to the FBI. This alert undermines the DOJ’s corrupt case.

I would vote for her a thousand times before Trump, for whom I would never vote. But she was literally as hawkish on Iran as he is during the campaign.

The President of the United States is threatening to commit war crimes and wipe out a "whole civilization" — all because he started a disastrous war of his own making and had no plan and no strategy for how to end it. This is abhorrent, and the American people do not support this.

I can’t help but like this Conway character. He’s smart, he despises Trump, and he’s good on social media. But he is conservative and he would very likely voted for Barry Goldwater had he the option in 1964.

We won't last 33 more months of this. This must stop. We must make it stop.

I came across a damning quote while watching the fantastic documentary Freedom On My Mind. It references the Democratic president Lyndon Johnson signing the Civil Rights Act and setting the stage for the mass exodus of conservatives from the Democratic Party in 1964.

Freedom On My Mind 43:15: “Time has come for Mississippi congressmen and senators to disassociate themselves from this party (Dems) and join the conservative white voters of this state in supporting Republican electors for Barry Goldwater.”

Today, I'm introducing my wealth tax — and more than 50 members of Congress are joining me. It’s time for the government to start working for American families, not just the ultra-rich.
