I think people just tend to think in dichotomies. One side vs another. All too often, left vs right. How left/right, are the only vectors, to some people. These things are both relative and subjective. People can't, or perhaps, refuse, to use critical thinking to understand what someone is saying.

Maybe a bit of a hot take here, but I think subsidized consoles aren't as valuable as people tend to think they are; maybe even a net negative for consumers. For brevity's sake, the consumer always pays. Platform holders only making it look cheaper up front.

The shop gives you a generous discount on one item, but you're forced to remain shopping with them alone. And over time, the rest of the shopping mall dies or just never grows. Maybe you benefitted that first time you entered the shop, but now you're stuck with the shop; without alternatives.

They've by far extracted that discount back and much more, but over time you would've had much larger savings had the mall born competition because that very same shop would've had to compete by lowering prices or offering better quality.

And sure, maybe some people benefit, but their whole motivation and goal is to beat competition and in net they're the ones who benefit from the subsidy - not consumers. Lets say you're at a shopping mall and you enter a store.

Scientists are still baffled to understand what evolutionary purpose elbows serve, other than to bang into doorways when you're absent minded to remind you that you have elbows.

Age of Darkness: The Final Stand is out of early access finally! I've loved this game since I first bought into early access ages (👍) ago. It's like They Are Billions, but frankly massively improved in so many aspects. And it now has co-op! store.steampowered.com/app/1426450/...

ME: Gonna play this open world rpg but only focus on the main story ME 15 gameplay hours later: the main campaign's tutorial is over. ME 20 gameplay hours later: I wonder how long 100%ing this game would actually take.

I'm playing a game where some granny just made some killer line about watching the life drain from their enemies eyes... in the middle of combat and it was just so randomly awesome.

Drow Monk has been incredibly fun to play through Baldur's Gate 3. Not sure what I am going to run on my second playthrough, but was thinking Paladin or Priest of some sort.

You are up to date.
