I never got how people argued being transgender is transhumanist, apart from the Latin prefix it’s about the most humanist thing you can do in acknowledging your human capacity to self-define and grapple with the restrictions of the human body and still find joy/community

This isn’t saying the concept of transhumanist movements is bad or good but I do think being transgender is one of the more active concepts of humanism expressed in western society today
