One of the local, small businesses I worked with to make merch started to be really uninterested in their clientele over the last year or so, not posting clients work etc, then recently announced on insta they were cutting their entire client list. I only found out when a moot sent me the post 🫠

And it’s been a huge bummer to feel the palpable change in how they communicated over time. I felt like I was an imposition every time I reached out with a job I needed done and they slowly shifted away from promoting their business to posting viral quirky content. The writing was on the wall

If they had been clear and communicative it would be different but I can’t help but feel bitter that the people who helped them grow and supported them for years ended up SOL because they clearly weren’t into it anymore. That’s not how you should run a business

I don’t wanna give away too much identifying info but iykyk, they decided to cut their entire client list loose to work with one business and communicated this change through social media posts, despite claiming they sent emails out. They may have sent some emails but I have no clue who got one

It’s just so wildly unprofessional and I can’t get over it. 8 years of working with them and they couldn’t send an email? I know I’m not the only one, I saw much bigger artists find out the same way. I just worked with them a couple months ago! Idk good luck to them in the future but it’s. Upsetting

There’s people on TikTok that post extreme torture of small animals and their audience of le edgy folks claim that because the fish are “invasive” in some parts of the world it’s somehow morally okay to treat them inhumanly. TikTok does not respond to reports on the accounts either 🫠

The plecos involved are most certainly obtained from pet stores with the express purpose of torture and people are abusing the concept of an invasive species to excuse it. Idk what to do except express my sadness at the world we live in. Abusing animals with pure glee does not help the environment

This year I’ve seen the term “invasive” used to refer to everything from cowbirds expanding their range to thylacines. I guess that’s why I do what I do when making sciart, but boy is it bleak

Does anyone else up with internet tomfoolery recall when a couple of ranches came across weird horses, claimed they were Przewalski's, and people did not believe them? In fact, it was so bonkers the owners had to lock comments due to the insane harassment. One of the horses in question:

They were proven by DNA to be Przewalski's horses, and it would seem they ended up at auction unintentionally😭 the male here is Shrek, unfortunately the female Fiona passed away of old age

Saw a fledgling mourning dove on a walk. Not more than a few minutes later, we passed a prowling outdoor cat :( always remember that the lives of our wild neighbors, no matter how small, are important. Keep your pets leashed, supervised and/or indoors!
