French police absolutely out of control now. Attacking street medics trying to help the injured, wtf?

À Strasbourg, la police a passé à tabac deux manifestants, dont l'un était déjà blessé, et les street medics venus lui porter secours. 📹 @/elyxandro sur Instagram

For those curious, the rain has filled up our water tanks, but there is still only a little puddle in the chalk based groundwater fed pond, still no water coming up at all in the other two. It's not filling the aquifers yet!

A fantastic inaugural East Anglian community choir festival today, organised by my friend the amazing Lisa Jayne Strong, full of energy & joy as ever! My lovely singers did me proud of course!

So they're at it again 🙄 Torturing valid HMRC data to create wildly misleading headlines, designed to invoke fear and anger about immigrants. Same old, same old... (and you'll see just how old shortly!) 🧵1/28

Well it might all be in pieces, no plumbing, wiring or windows and looking terrifyingly smashed up below the roofline but the solar panels are on & looking good with the new bargeboards, lead flashing & repointed chimney. Hanging on to the positives 😆 #OneDayThisWillBeLiveable

My admin just got an email from one of my singers where the entire body of text was in the subject line, and it said Dear R please can you send emails to my inbox and not my junk folder, many thanks S. A lot of people are getting very left behind in the digital world ☹️

Just look at the glee on Nigel Farage’s face as he watches a Piddington resident cry about the overt racism she, her Caribbean heritage husband, and their two children have felt in the village during the referendum. Time and again he’s showing us exactly who he is.

Toadflax arrived in our meadow by itself, always super happy to find a new native species has appeared. It's like a teeny two fingers up to all those destroying nature elsewhere. It is covered in bees and shield bugs. #WildflowerHour

Wasp spider in the meadow! V cool and very fast and aggressive! I love how they weave a big near invisible web but deliberately create a more solid white zig zag up the middle of it.

4 months in to our Suffolk Reform run council and they are already have to call a by-election, turns out to be harder work than they thought running a council & some of them aren't really up for it after all. I really hope it was the endless complaints about bins that did them in 😆

Dolly. What a legend. Gutted. Someone who used her wealth to make real positive difference wherever she could. She'll leave a massive legacy. Watch & learn billionaires/Trillionaires, watch & learn.

Oh man this is making me sad, yet another mole has died due to the drought & rock hard ground. This one made it to one of the sumps in the groundwater fed wildlife pond, but there's been no water there for a month now. Small lives being lost everywhere ☹️

What a spiteful load of nonsense. The shooting fraternity really have their claws in to folk who are managing land for nature & biodiversity rather than profit & killing. Reminder that the biggest ever wildfire in Scotland was on a highly managed grouse moor in Darva. #rewilding

The saplings we got from the Woodland Trust were probably the tiniest & most feeble of all the suppliers we tried and we lost hundreds in the drought of 2022. Some of the survivors are doing OK with no watering though, maybe drought hardened by that baptism of fire!

A lot of people keen to blame deliberate arson for wildfires forget just how stupid a lot of people are. As if firefighters needed any other work a local moron decided to have a bonfire last night which set his grass alight spreading out of control to his garden fast 🙄 #wildfire

Oh no, Dunwich Heath wildlife reserve is on fire, right next to Minsmere bird reserve too. 14 crews out & people evacuated. This is horrendous. Views from Sizewell & Eels Foot #Suffolk #Wildfire

Rubbish pic but fairly sure this is a Six-belted clearwing moth I spotted in our meadow yesterday. Quite rare for #Suffolk apparently. #suffolkwildlife

And that's it for the big groundwater pond for this summer. All gone, just the reedmace & loosestrife left. Luckily for wildlife the stream is still running, but wondering if it's natural or whether the environment agency are ensuring that as they did for 90 days in 2022 before they had to give up.

England lost the match to Argentina and as usual emergency services saw a massive uptick in domestic violence call outs. No uptick in bear attacks reported...

Well the sheep's wool insulation has arrived and the MVHR guy has been and checked the routes he's designing will work, the answer is 'mostly' and 'hmmm, complicated' 😬

Meadow species count is going up year on year. (No trees or shrubs included in this count). Although have to admit couldn’t reliably include all the different species of grass because we don’t know them well enough!

What *actually* works — right here, right now — to address climate change? Here you go. This is the result of thousands of hours of painstaking research and analysis from the Project Drawdown team.

Look at our baby barn owls! Two boys and two girls in total. Had them ringed today, so proud to have provided the right habitat for them & to see it working so well.

Absolutely sweltering here even at 8pm FFS! We had to go water some of our newest trees (not pictured, these ones should be ok 🤞), otherwise they'll have no chance getting through this heatwave. It was extremely hot work.

Being mystified all over again that it's nigh on impossible to get inward opening windows in the UK or cool wooden shutters to add to the outside that work with them. It makes all the difference abroad on hot days! (And inward opening windows are way easier/safer to clean!) #heatwave
