Cultivate the kind of hope that allows you to keep moving forward.

Some days, hope feels far away. Sean Parker Dennison reminds us we don’t have to face or fix the world alone. Hope lives in community—where generosity, mourning, and joy connect us, and where we remember we belong to each other. https://bit.ly/4pWKCVs #UU #Hope #Community

As the Supreme Court allows revocation of legal status for 532,000 immigrants, we remember Dr. King's words: "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." Our faith calls us to welcome strangers and defend the vulnerable. May American citizens stand with their immigrant neighbors.

As tensions rise over international student visas, we're reminded that fear can cloud our vision of unity. Like threads in a tapestry, Chinese and American students are interconnected in the persuit of learning. We must encourage our leaders to protect the bonds that make us one human family.

Try all five!

My birthday is in 1 week. This is my wish list. Please choose from the following options: - act of resistance to fascism. - act of kindness that is out of your comfort zone. - donation to a gender affirming care or suicide prevention org. - giving your pet extra snuggles and posting a pic.

The Bible isn’t a playbook for control; it’s an invitation to imagine a world shaped by compassion, humility, and generosity. What kind of world are you building? #LivingRightSideUp #ScriptureSpeaks

Diversity is not about lowering standards to meet a quota; it is about raising standards. Surrounding yourself with one type of person is a low standard. We must aim for the highest standard, which is surrounding ourselves with the best humans, and human greatness comes in all forms.

If compassion is truly and deeply felt then, by nature, we will find a way to express it through our actions.

In Buddhism, compassion is not a passive act, it is a powerful force for change and for justice Compassion prompts us to fight for all living beings—all people, all animals, all plants—to receive understanding and respect Compassion is creating safe spaces and accepting consequences #Buddhism

I know this sounds weak, I know it. But kindness is one of the few things we carry that can make a difference for each other. We can’t undo all this hate, but we can still make life a little easier for others.

It can be frustrating to watch people be rewarded for their selfishness, malice, and cruelty. Whatever worldly benefits those people may receive, they will never know the peace of having made the world better. Have faith that this reward is superior to any other.

During times of crisis there is much we can do to reduce the suffering of the victims. If you lack the resources to contribute materially, then speak compassionately so the victims know they are not alone.

Sometimes doing the right thing can feel invisible. But you are seen. Silent onlookers are encouraged to do right. People who are surrounded by wrong are reminded of what doing right looks like. Remember, a light shines brightest in the darkness.

Times of transition can be full of grief for a lost past and anxiety about an uncertain future. While it is normal to feel these emotions, don't lose yourself in them. Work on living deeply in the present moment.

2025 gives us little hope for comfort, compassion, and justice. However, even if there is little hope for our own happiness, we can work to be the reason that others have to be hopeful. Let's make 2025 the Year of Giving Hope!

2024 was a year of notable setbacks in the cause of compassion, especially in the realm of politics. That is why I want us to take time in this thread to celebrate the advances in compassion from the last year. May these stories encourage us. [1/6]

Despite the issues with AI, there also exists the potential for it to help charitable groups better serve large groups of people. AI may allow charities to answer specific questions at scale without requiring an army of volunteers. [3/6] www.wired.com/story/humani...

Here’s my fervent wish that we make our own Positive Project 2025: Consider those in need; care for those who are sick; don’t mock nor disdain the disabled; don’t enrich the wealthy at the expense of the poor; put kindness & empathy above cruelty & meanness; let others live as they choose. Be good.

It's always easy to forget the small moments of delight that make up our lives. Take pictures and write them down so you can enjoy them forever.

The journey we walk is uniquely ours, often misunderstood even by us. We see only glimpses of others' path. So, be kind. Compassion and love smooth the way. The world is rough enough; let’s make each other’s paths a little gentler.

"...researchers still don't know the exact mechanisms by which volunteering and acts of kindness improve people's health, but it is likely that multiple processes are at play."

Whether it's volunteering at a local school or taking soup to a sick neighbor, improving the welfare of others can also improve our own physical and mental health, a sizable body of research shows.

Happy Kwanzaa🕯️ This is a time to come together in unity, celebrate heritage, and reflect on the values that strengthen our community. May the seven principles of Kwanzaa inspire us to live with purpose and gratitude.

While the twinkling lights of Christmas may fade, the spirit of giving shines brighter than ever! Let's carry that warmth in our hearts throughout the year, spreading kindness and joy wherever we go.

Peace, justice, and gratitude are not beliefs to keep inside of you; they are actions to be lived.
