The Bend shooting reminds me again of a story these events always remind me of. I was in high school and had returned from a Dr appt and saw a groups of kids gathered by a pickup near where I parked. The vice principal was on his way, thinking they were smoking at lunch. I lingered to watch.

There was a lot of violence at my school, daily fights, feuds, etc. Many kids in that rural area had guns in their cars, but no matter what the issue was, no one ever thought of going out to get one and use it. I think guns are a problem and wish there weren't any, but also that there's more to it.

There's kind of a cultural nihilism that has grown since then. Now we have: 1) Easy access to guns 2) Life is cheap 3) No future And all of those things you can thank the american right and republicans for. 2 and half weeks. Vote. This can't even start to change until they're gone.

Turned out they were looking at a new rifle one of the kids got. VP took it, looked it over and complimented him on it followed by "you boys head on back to class now". Kid put it back and everyone went on with their day.

I'm going through a bunch of old foto files. My usual "mission statement", as such, is "100% analog". But I have digitised some tests, snapshots, happy accidents, etc, over the years and may as well post a few. I'll start with this one. Argyrotype, taken with my Crown Graphic.

I've been vaccinated against smallpox, polio and rabies. I've had chickenpox, measles (both rubeola and rubella) and mumps. So, of course it's plague. 😐

GrapheneOS completely redesigning the look of its SMS app did not make Ken Paxton's stupid texts look any better. This change from Talarico-bashing to egg prices is kinda pathetic. And funny. Finally just sent "Stop" instead of profanity. Let's see if he gets desperate enough to resubscribe me.

PSA to companies that block VPNs. You're not stopping anything or being "secure". All I'm going to do is keep switching VPN servers until I find one you haven't blocked while my anger increases. You're not actually doing anything except making me search for your competitors that don't frustrate me.

More anti-Talarico texts from Paxton. I added to my previous comments this time. Yea, I know no one probably reads these, so I worked "stop" into the response this time. If they keep sending me this crap I'm def going to call and tell them how I REALLY feel. Paxton, Repubs, Maga... it's a sickness.
