AI believes you can construct a shirt to fit boobage with pleats and not darts. You cannot. Pleats give extra room on the same plane, it does not create a curve out of a plane. The world is currently FULL of garments with wrong 3D geometry that are completely unwearable. I blame Etsy.

Oh. We had to do this. $152k was what we spent for an additional 2.5 years with my brother. There is nothing in Canada that helps you deal with either the emotional or financial part of this. my 2% cash back credit card paid more than BC did for my brother’s treatment www.cbc.ca/news/health/...

*collapses on floor* all our ballot boxes balanced. we were able to cobble together enough vouching and ID so everyone who was eligible to vote was able to So if someone I don’t like gets elected, I can 100% say (from my corner) It was done fairly But wow. Kind words were few and far between

In my defence we also didn’t have enough tables for voting, and the media didn’t submit their paperwork and I had to argue with them about NOT going LIVE from inside the polling place, because NO PAPERWORK Yeah I’m not having fun guys. BUT everyone eligible to vote is getting to vote!!!!

Guys. I said be kind!!! I’m going to have a nervous breakdown here on my break. im sorry we have so few staff and the weather sucks and the entrance isn’t marked with all the signs and the traffic is bad and the boxes are assigned and all your neighbours came exactly when you did.

Can people spread the word, this election is being run with 2020 rules? ASSIGNED VOTING PLACE, and an assigned ballot box. If you are NOT at your assigned box, you vote absentee (multi-envelope). BUT bonus, elections BC has no easy way to find out your assigned box number other than your card

I came home working provincial advanced on Saturday and sat down while my husband over analyzed every stat coming from the municipal election. I then remembered why I started working every election night 15 years ago. 2 things we can't do together in our marriage: Ikea and election results night

Only now realizing that I will be spending B.C. election night at the no phones Pheobe Bridgers show, completely cut off from the results as they start to roll in.

I once had a chance to talk with an extremely wealthy individual, old money. He explained that fines are just normal costs. His car doesn’t get “towed” It’s a bad valet service. His assistant deals with it, he parks where he pleases. That mentality explains a fair amount of billionaire behaviour

UPDATE: The Trump administration apologized to a judge after DHS’ taxpayer-funded Trump ads aired in hundreds of ad spots after she blocked them. The excuse: DHS’ lawyers missed the email. The judge had flagged that the $20 million for the ads was approved in under two hours.

Huh. I just read a NYT article that in passing indicated deeply subsidizing childcare is a way of acknowledging insane housing prices and providing targeted financial relief to that socio-economic group. Never thought about it that way

Teachers!!! You told us “don’t let the kids on the social media” so we listened Please stop giving assignments like “write this character’s twitter” or “in the style of instagram” …its *really* hard to explain the meta concepts of social media

I think if I signed up for this the data would get fully skewed. I don’t think we have been all healthy since school started

we have this window by our front door that we can sort of see out of when someone approaches the door. Both my cat and I reacted as if someone was going to drop a package or knock...but nothing. I check the camera. No one. ...I want an explanation that doesn't rely on the supernatural

Our local impoverishment fellow is being discharged from hospital, but needs a little financial help. Instead of asking for donations, he’s asking people to buy the megaphone from him. Billionaires could learn a thing or two from this guy

Racist facts about my grandfather. He filed away the old GVRD plans, Massey tunnel paperwork, and relocation plans (60s scoop) altogether. it wasn’t alphabetical, it was consciously connected. Next folder over he had photographs of Bill Ried’s carvers. The MOA took some of his documents.

His secretary became my grandmother. They had a 60s scoop child (my grandmother had specific catholic adjacent beliefs about motherhood, which I think protected this child from the worst of the experiences) who was my most beloved aunt.

I have had to come to terms that I come from family that has done damage to others in the name of their beliefs. And continues to do so. Estrangement isn’t an option, because of the compassion I have for my disabled cousins. I choose a different path, fully unsupported.

Am I the only one who is concerned about the ability of this newly elected city council to, um, function? I hope but after meeting one cope member who was fully disorganized, refused to follow procedure/rules, and was very self important, I’m hoping it was just a bad moment and not representative?

me: I’m home! I’ve done my voting supervisor duty. So glad it’s over! OMG Husband: uhuh. and when did you say when they tried to talk you into taking another 14 hour shift? Me: Kids: WHAT?!??! MOM!!! Me: …they called me while I was in the middle of things and you weren’t there to stop me!!!

Me: look they said I didn’t need to do any more training and they just asked me if I‘d work final voting day, and I told [my former colleague] the only way they will get me to work final voting day is if they call me the very last minute and don’t let me have any chance to think about it.

13yo: but mom! husband chuckling 13yo: dad bet us you would and I said you wouldn’t 15yo: I told you, bet on mom not helping a person was not a good deal 13yo: but this isn’t helping a person!!!! Husband: yeah, it’s helping 3500 people 13yo: it’s not that hard to say no I do it to you all the time!

Oh nosssss! Looks like Brady Rogers got elected to Kelowna Council. Poor guy has to do the job now that barely wants to do! Good on you Brady for rewriting the book on how to get a good guy elected Normalize saying “I don’t know but I will keep asking questions”

20 mins before close I helped a bunch of people ditch their provincial ballots (appropriately and securely) so they could run to cast their civic vote. We had no line and they were in a rush. They totally missed that we asked them to confirm that they were voting in the provincial election.

As soon as they asked, how come there is no cope on the ballot or Ken sim…. I took their ballot and asked have they voted in the city election yet, confirmed they hadn’t, told them where to run, and explained we can deal with this tomorrow here but the mayor election ends in 20 minutes, SO GO NOW!!

2 voters processed per minute today Have you ever had somebody added to a team that just made everything go worse, so you fired them and shortstaffed you ending up doing way better? … so many things about management I never wanted to have to learn One more day serving democracy

We ended the day with a processing rate of 1.6 voters per minute, serving just shy of 1200 voters. No one waited more than 30 minutes. New voter registration, vouching, curb side voting all included. I had a team of 8.

Tomorrow provincial election advance voting starts. Please be patient, and be kind. Those people at the polling places have no control over the following complaints: - why can’t I vote where I normally do? - why can’t I just vote municipal here as well? - municipal had no lines!

2017 I was an Elections BC District Office technology officer. I had to bring my kids one night because there were after hours election issues and I didn’t have child care. Not sure quite old enough to work elections yet. The one in the hat though came to help hang stuff up high tonight for me.

I’m always very kind to Jehovah’s Witnesses. It is just a requirement of their religion to go door-to-door. They don’t mean any harm by it. But I did take great joy in slamming the door in the face of a particular …candidate. I have no kind words for you.
