This is why I hate the “it has to be subtle!!!” Critique of queer media. The fact that we can’t just say what we are or what the character is is so reductive and constraining to so many queer writers. Don’t let cis people dictate how you show you identity. They don’t know what they’re saying.

When trans creators are subtle, people dismiss the trans subtext as “headcanon.” When trans creators are loud and proud, people call it “obnoxious” and “cringe.” They just don’t want us to be represented in media at all. Because they don’t want us to exist at all.

Not really sure what to do with Meta scraping public images for AI and my art. I have too many friends/followers on FB to convert to a private account without deleting a lot of people, plus having all my posts private makes it difficult to connect with new people.

Surrealist illustration I did for BizarroCon 2027! A little wink to the Page of Cups tarot card (unexpected ideas and creativity), the Rubin vase optical illusion, celestial vibes, and some general lowbrow weirdness.

It’s one of those terms that at this point people give more weight than anything that happens in the thing they’re discussing. The endgame of all buzzwords made to be negative on a thing.

Is the Surf Dracula complaint just tired at this point, or has the underlying problem really grown in recent years? www.resetera.com/threads/16...

Use reference. I’m serious. I get it that somehow you or someone convinced you that using reference is “cheating.” It’s not. You are just hindering yourself.

When I was a kid I would run and hide from Green Goblin in Spider-Man. Also my uncle is big into horror movies and without even watching them the DVD covers of 28 Days Later and The Grudge freaked me the hell out.
