Have you heard the story of Monkey D. Luffy, the man who will find the one piece and become king of the pirates? If I have to live in a world run be reality denying zealots I'm at least gonna talk about a cooler messianic figure!

Do you love any of the games that I have created? Whether it's Monsterhearts, Dream Askew, The Quiet Year, Going For Broke, or a deeper cut, now would be a great time to hit quote-tweet and tell your friends about it! It's been a slow month. 💕✨ store.buriedwithoutceremony.com

No, he did not kill some random guy. He very specifically was not random. He experienced agonizing pain that could have been prevented and the buck for why it wasn't in Luigi's estimation, rightly or wrongly, stopped with Thompson. This was a choice to be a consequence for legal brutality.

"Would taking out a few filthy rich bastards make the world better?" is a far more realistic consideration than the racist and ableist bullshit thats ordered our society for centuries. The people who gatekeep medical care, clean water, food, and shelter are doing worse violence than Luigi daily

Yet we live with them and some of you even idolize them. And that violence is random and careless and rooted in depersonalizing the interaction to justify it happening more frequently. If you're pearl clutching about both forms of violence, kudos to you. It is good to abhor violence.

We can and should have a conversation about whether Luigi's confessed actions were justified or productive, but we can't have that while intentionally diluting the facts. Personally, I can empathize with why he did it, I know a lot of people can. I can see why folks would want to emulate it.

Gonna go grab McDonald's because Palestinians aren't a monolith and like-minded allies may disagree on BDS. The made up conversation I had to disregard the really easy asks from people suffering absolutely took a load off my mind.

They were like “Trans people are not a monolith” and “Like-minded allies may disagree on specific media boycotts” and stuff like that. It was a huge load off my mind!

Last week, or the one before, when George Lucas was hyping AI one of the first things I did was see what we know of what John Williams is up to because Williams is an actual creative genius. This man is in his 90s and still composing because thats the whole point of art, the doing

Artists will do until they can't do no more and then keep going because to do otherwise is to surrender a part of themselves to death prematurely. That's why AI has no place in the arts because no artist would want it, you can't put text into a prompt to release the ineffable breath of life.

This and the point when the thread turns to, "this is also why suburbs" is why I see fascists in most liberals. This nimby cowardice is the same thing as Miller's "all these protestors are deformed." We can't have a system that benefits everyone more because these folks will lose their insulation

I think you're going to have a difficult time convincing families with young children to give up car culture and take more public transit if you also refuse to police behavior on the public transit and in the transit centers. Yes, people doing drugs in those places is a turn-off.

Is Mark Hamill still a genocidal fan of child murder? I saw something clearly trying to drum up press for the guy and was just wondering if he's realized he's been scum yet or not

Someone make sure @jamesgunn.bsky.social watches The Lowdown from Sterlin Harjo. Ethan Hawke as an older Oliver Queen with Kaniehttio Horn as Dinah Lance would be phenomal. Lee Raybon could practically be Oliver in another life and if Deer Lady couldn't be Black Canary, no one could.

and fwiw, the users are definitely the problem here, because in a way it's why they came here. to escape the constant, ugly drama of other sites and protect against that. but the platform itself is a problem. so much effort toward self-moderation has meant a culture of people talking to themselves.

Turn on your replies and pop your bubble, Corey

i think, end of the day, the real problem with Bluesky is that most of its users are here *because* they want to be in a bubble. and they can tell themselves that it’s just about not being around Nazis it supporting Musk, and that’s part of it, but also there’s a palpable desire to be ensconced.

Minneapolis could do so much with $38 million to improve all our lives — yet Frey wants a Cop City. Getting back to the basics should mean a Minneapolis we all can afford, not a gun range for MPD. Tell City Council to vote no: buff.ly/lbO9vpY Artwork by DSA member FL
