I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

1️⃣ Note that most of these locations are library branches; imagine how much more public infrastructure they could provide ✨if funded with ≥0.5% of NYC's budget✨ (Another reason @nycplan.org's work is so important) 2️⃣ May this climate-catastrophic event also remind us: COVID is dangerous + not over. 😷

NEW: One day after we revealed Meta was quietly building face recognition into its smart glasses, the latest version deletes it. Meta execs, who called our reporting "dishonest" and "misleading," continue to dodge our questions.

sex workers have been saying since forever that “adult content” & big tech are a match made in hell…including me, in 2022

wired.comElon Musk’s Reckless Plan to Make Sex Pay on TwitterA plan to monetize adult content could make sense from a business and social standpoint. In practice, Twitter won’t be able to pull it off.

load bearing alleys for villain and hero origin stories alike

Chris Person@papapishu.bsky.social

New York City has like 3 alleys. There's that one in Chinatown, that one in the LES, and the one near the REI that's near the library. You have seen each of them like seventeen thousand times on various iterations of Law and Order.
