I’m gonna be slightly rebranding my social media accounts to my real name, Max Meyer. Red Rax is the name of a character I created, and I’ve been using it as a username, but I want to start making it clear that I’m not the same as the character

It was never finished in this form, but the album that came out of it, Who’s Next, is considered one of the best rock albums of all time, and classics like Baba O’Reilly (the “teenage wasteland” song), Won’t Get Fooled Again, Behind Blue Eyes, and Who Are You? were written for the project.

Tonight, for my radio show, I’m doing something a bit different. In the early seventies, Pete Townshend, the guitarist for The Who, came up with an idea called Lifehouse.

The project would encompass a rock album, feature film, and a series of interactive concerts using early computer technology, all to tell a story that many have argued predicted the Internet.

The sky was ribbed like a fishbone, criss-crossed with waves of orange, glinting in the setting sun but slowly desaturating into its all-too-familiar grey.

But for a beautiful moment, everything is magical. The heavens reveal themselves through the sky in that powerful language we all know but have almost forgotten.

I was talking to some English majors, who recommended a book by saying, “It starts to get really good around page 400.” I’m not sure I have that much dedication…

Anyone here ever heard of Bibio? If you haven't, my show tonight will be the perfect introduction to my favorite Folktronica artist of all time!

My set this week is dedicated to transformative covers, covers that completely change the genre or style of a song. Set starts in an hour and a half, but I'm live now playing requests and more!

Michigan Tech Students! I'm doing a weekly local music column in The Lode student newspaper now! You can catch "Turn it U.P. with Max Meyer" every week in papers around campus or at the link below!

Was walking past this building and through the window saw this backrooms-ass room, so I accidentally took the coolest picture ever due to the window's reflection

Hylo is a vertical city, a city for climbers and fallers, for strivers, builders, and diggers. A city split into strata, not by class, but by perceived class, how 'respectable' your organization appears from the outside. #writing #worldbuilding

A cartographer may be hired by a respectable business to conduct corporate espionage. And many important companies are fronts for nefarious business below, just as many enterprises below may be managed by those with deep pockets.

And in between the two is The Street. The Street is a constant battleground between the classes, just as liable to jumping stockbrokers from above as it is to sinkholes from below.

But what those new to the city often aren’t aware of is the staggering mobility of class. It is a city where the high and low class intermingle, interchange, and become one another. A stockbroker by day may buy drugs under the bridge at night depending on how well the day’s earnings went.

In opposition, the “lower side” of Hylo scurry around the tunnels, sewers, catacombs, and dungeons of the city. This warren is constantly changing, as criminals dig new paths to undercut their rivals, creating new passageways in the process or else causing a rival’s home to collapse in on itself...

due to instability. The rock gets denser the deeper you voyage, but nothing stops the dedicated. Accurate maps are a particularly valuable commodity, and cartography is a surprisingly lucrative trade, tho it involves much more social skills for intelligence gathering than is traditionally thought.

The “upper side” of Hylo is where, predictably, the richest resident. Gardened walkways stretch out high over the city between breathtaking skyscrapers. Yuppies on break from their sinecures can be seen handgliding from building to building, basking in the warmth of the close sun.
