A cool thing about science is that the winner of a scientific debate is determined by experiments, not by people. In non-scientific debates you can “win” by convincing more people. Scientific debates hinge on making accurate predictions about observable phenomena.

Clarence Thomas nostalgic for the time when he joined the court, before people were accusing people of “things”? He can’t be serious, his entire confirmation hearing was about Anita Hill accusing him (very credibly) of sexual harassment.

I really think that every four to six years all elected officials need to be replaced with a random selection of new politicians. Letting people who WANT power get elected to positions of power is fucking dangerous.

Marge tells Piers Trump tried to cover up the Epstein files, even the government shutdown was part of it — and when Trump called her a “traitor” and her son got death threats Trump had no compassion for her and told her it would be her fault if her son got killed. 😳

Y’all realize they came up with this “no tax on tips” thing right after SCOTUS declared political bribes are actually gratuities, right? Once they legalized bribery by calling them tips, some genius was like, oh shit, will we have to pay tax on those tips? It’s extremely obvious.

It’s not a coincidence that the left wing never has the same resources for politics as the right wing. The right wing is full of self-centered and greedy people who have dedicated their lives to accumulating wealth while the left wing are pro-social people that have been working to help other people

How do Democrats win elections against the Republican party that has spent decades indoctrinating their base into a pro-business, anti-government cult, thus aligning their base with their donors? Democrats have the same rich donors but a base that is pro-worker, so they aren’t aligned.

Time for Democrats to seize on Orban’s loss and send the message that the age of authoritarians is over and Republicans better start holding criminals accountable again. They need to start worrying about what is coming in January, when they hand over power in Congress.

One obvious restriction is that the President should not be able to pardon anyone in their own administration. Otherwise it’s a blank check to have your own people commit crimes. And with SCOTUS giving the president absolute immunity, it’s a recipe for kleptocracy.

Everybody seems to be ignorant of the fact that Prescott Bush and other business leaders plotted a coup attempt to take over the U.S. government with a military dictatorship. Look up Smedley Butler and the Wall Street Putsch.

When a country allows its meanest, most despicable citizens to run everything.

Israel is the definition of an “entangling alliance” that Thomas Jefferson warned us about. Generally speaking, no one should ally themselves too closely with any person or group.

Buttigieg: "For the leader of this country to make a nakedly genocidal threat against another civilization as if the US was a death star that was going around blowing up civilizations, of course that is a new low ... the whole country is being judged just for tolerating that kind of thing at the WH"

If you work, you owe your thanks to former labor Secretary Frances Perkins – the architect behind the 40-hour workweek, the minimum wage, unemployment insurance, and Social Security. On her birthday today and every day, America’s unions celebrate her legacy and leadership.

To all the MAGAs finally taking down your Trump flags, please think about why the rest of us don’t have to take down our Harris, Biden, or Obama flags. You’re the ones that were wrong the whole time and we are glad you’re finally able to admit it. We were right the whole time.

This is an account close to the Iranian leadership. We are now seeing the shape of why Iran agreed so enthusiastically to this "ceasefire". They will control and toll the Strait for the first time. They keep their nuclear program. They keep their missiles. What a disaster.

Today is day 127 of the ICE occupation of MN. ICE is still here. Neighbors are still being abducted. So we’re here too. Still carrying whistles. Still standing watch in our neighborhoods. Still doing mutual aid. Still fighting for ICE OUT EVERYWHERE.

RE:Reality reposted

Trump said today that “a whole civilization will die tonight.” This is insane.  He is openly threatening massive escalation in Iran. Congress needs to immediately vote to put a stop to this. It is a constitutional duty to vote on war powers and both sides should demand this.

Amazon reportedly failed to create any new jobs at its HQ2 in Virginia last year, despite millions of state tax incentives. The company has cut 30,000 jobs since last October — while saving $4 billion in taxes under Trump's Big Ugly Bill. Trickle-down economics is a hoax.
